Elsor
Posted: Mon Jun 27, 2005 6:40 pm
Name: Elsor
Nickname: Elsie Simmonds
Gender: Male (It’s not his fault the body was wrong…)
Age: 2791 (Appearances are deceptive)
Race: One time near-immortal of some form, now trapped inside a human’s body
Occupation: In Bela's pay.
Physical Appearance:
Elsor was male. Of that he is fairly damn certain. But whoever pulled him back from utter destruction had a cruel sense of humour. Elsor is now stuck inside the body of six year old girl, who, for the sake of appearances he has called Elsie. Elsie is around three foot nine inches, with the usual light build of a young child. She is not formidable or strong, or particularly cute or charming.
She has a square, flat face, with very little curve to her chin and a slightly squashed looking nose over a wide mouth, and dark brown eyes. Her face is framed by black hair that curls slightly down to her elbows, and it suffices to say the Elsor cannot stand looking in the mirror. It’s embarrassing.
Elsie wears a black dress, which has the unfortunate effect, with her fair skin, of making her look like some junior goth girl, and causes and old women who see her walking around, black hair decorated with tatty black ribbons, black dress muddy and somewhat torn around the hem, to tut and mumble about the state of children these days. Her clothes are in such a poor state because Elsor just cannot get the hang of caring for the physical form again. Let’s be fair- he has had only ten days so far…
Personality:
Elsor now has a strange mix of his 2791 year old wisdom and the childish impulses of his physical form, much to his disgust. These tend to manifest in a slightly hyperactive desire for biscuits and sugar, an utter longing for the colour pink and an attention span slightly shorter than that of a demented flea when he gets frightened.
Most of the time, however, Elsor manages to retain his ancient wisdom and pride. He is both very intelligent and very knowledgeable, and can apply this to a situation, he remembers a lot of general knowledge from before his fall from power, but has forgotten exactly how and who and why he has ended up where he now is. He knows, however, that he does not like it, and at the moment suffers from a short temper and general all round annoyance at life for the unfairness of bringing him back in ‘Elsie’- it would be almost unbearable, were it not for the fact that he knows that it has to be endured.
Elsor is generally very sarcastic and cynical about life, with a seen-it-all attitude that is utterly incongruous with his physical form. His humour is likewise dark, but occasionally runs to the dirty or lewd, much to the horror of those who have met with this little girl who spouts language that would cause even some criminals to blush.
Possibly as a by-product of the little girl form, Elsor has found he is afraid of spiders and the dark.
Magics:
Luckily enough for Elsor, he seems to have retained some of his magical power. When I say some, he managed to summon a magical light for all of five seconds before it winked out and gained a splitting headache that lasted the rest of the day. He hopes that with work, this may improve.
Strengths/Good Qualities:
Intelligent and knowledgeable- Elsor can speak, read and write fluently in five languages, three of which are almost certainly extinct and he will never see again, but they should help to pass the time. He can solve problems and do difficult mathematics in his head…Just a pity that nobody will ask him…
Nobody could possibly suspect a little girl- Elsor has already figured out that he can steal things, bat his childish eyelashes and get away without anybody even suspecting him. Sometimes these forms have their uses.
Speed- Elsor does receive Elsie’s over-energetic six-year-old ability to run fast for a long time. It is his only physical asset.
Weaknesses/Bad Qualities:
Physically very weak- in his present form, Elsor won’t be lifting any weights or fighting any bad guys hand-to-hand for a long time.
The little girl within- sometimes it is too much to try to control ‘Elsie’s’ desperate need to squeal at cute bunny rabbits, or similar…Often at inappropriate moments.
Go away, little girl- nobody gives any credit to a six-year-old kid. Even one who claims to be 2791 years old and have once been a supernatural force.
Character History:
Elsor has forgotten all events that happened before this point…
Elsor faced the abyss, he had been struck down in battle, a risk he had known existed, before conflict had even entered his mind. And now here he stood, looking at the nothing that stretched away in all directions from the island on which he stood. All that was left now was to take the final step. And it would all end- that was how it was for his kind.
The disembodied voice that came in the next moment shocked even Elsor. Disembodied voices were commonplace, but he had never expected to hear one here of all places. He glared, the least they could do was let him have an elegant ending, befitting to his power. No. You are too amusing to be wasted so soon. Echoed the voice around the very inside of Elsor’s skull. That was unnecessarily showy. Elsor sighed, and was about to tell the voice to get lost, when there was the sense of being bundled up, and the fallen being was spun away from his ending to somewhere else.
Elsor opened his eyes. Well, that was unexpected. Having eyes, that was. He hadn’t had eyes in a very long time…How long? Elsor blinked, another unfamiliar feeling. He couldn’t remember. How odd. Well, the first thing to do was to get up and start regaining his powers, he felt as drained and weak as a new born pup. He felt small to, and that was when Elsor actually got around to looking at himself. A small, young body in a black dress with black tresses falling about his shoulders….
When somebody said I had a greater purpose, I didn’t expect to come back as a six-year-old girl.
That was ten days ago, when Elsor came around in a physical body in Shim village. Since then he has been hiding around the village trying to work out why he is where he is and how to get some decent powers back. He is filthy, hungry and tired, and has been failing miserably on both counts.
Belongings: One messy black dress.
Other useful facts:
Elsor was struck down by another near-immortal in a fight for power. The disembodied voice belonged to this same being, by the name of Shasalle. Shasalle has no interest in Thar Shaddin except as the place to laugh at her fallen enemy making a fool of himself as a little girl in a tatty black dress.
No matter what he does, Elsor will never even get close to regaining the magical power of his original form, nor will he remember anything about the events that led to his fall. Shasalle doesn’t want him gaining enough power to offer any sort of revenge to her.
