Servis the Younger

Player name: Matt
Name: Servis the younger.
Age: Late 20s
Race: Human
Height: 5’ 9”
Weight: 180 Lbs.
Physical description:
Servis is a fairly plain, non-descript looking man. He stands at an average height and is neither skinny nor fat. Like many in Marn he keeps his brownish hair closely cropped for comfort and ease. Because of his Eastern ancestry his skin is slightly darker than many in Marn. Servis generally wears dark, sturdy clothes: plain trousers, heavy boots, and working jackets. His face is lined and creased from years exposed to the elements. Servis was branded on both his palms, a “X” inside a circle, which he often covers with gloves.
Possessions:
Servis wandered into Marn less than six weeks ago, his pockets heavy with Bishani and not much else. He leased (for lack of a better word) a small flat above a tailor on the Eastern side of the residential district, a short distance from the Shanty market. In his flat he has a bed, some shelves, a dresser, a locked chest, a washbasin, etc., etc. Servis carries a small utility knife for function, not for a weapon.
Abilities and Strengths:
Servis can talk; without a doubt he could sell dirt to a farmer. In addition to his gift of gab Servis has a prodigious memory. His mind is like a computer processing, cross-referencing, inputting, and spitting out amazing volumes of information. He can take a conversation and make connections to events that happened three years earlier. This ability makes him an invaluable asset. Although Servis is not a fighter he is “useful” in other ways; Servis is dedicated and is so committed to his appointment that he would commit suicide rather than see it fail or endangered. He has the strength of his conventions.
Weakness:
Servis could defend himself if necessary, but he has not received formal training in fighting or the use of weapons. Clearly he could pick up a sword and swing it, or bring a hammer down on someone, but it would only be in desperation. Servis’ main weakness is that he is surrounded, deep in enemy territory with no one to rely on but himself. He is truly, all alone.
History:
Servis has two histories, one he tells those he knows in Marn, and one that no one within 200 miles of Marn knows. His cover story is that he was raised on the Eastern plains far away by a small tribe that was overrun when he was a young man. The horsemen who took him used him for labor, building monuments, harvesting fodder, and any other number of menial jobs. He was branded as property and passed around the tribe as needed. A few months ago, while on the move to a new worksite, a freak storm burst across the plains scattering the horses. While the guards were rounding up the horses two of the other slaves killed two of the guards and managed to begin a riot. During the chaos Servis managed to escape into the night, following a river, dodging wild riders, crossing mountains, and simply surviving, brought Servis the Younger to Marn. During all his travels he was afraid of being recaptured and heard of a land to the West where slaves were freed and protected, where human life was sacred: Marn. This was to be his destination; along the way he saved and acquired enough Bishani to start a new life in a new city.
His true background is shared with none. Servis the Younger was born, breed, trained, cultured, and prepared in a secret program to infiltrate cities and areas that may become dangerous in the future. His home was the city of Dusk, a rising, prosperous city to the South of Marn. The leaders of Dusk are smart enough to plan long term. Servis is just one of many people sent throughout the roughly known world to infiltrate cities, prepare information networks, gather intelligence, prepare action plans, and await further orders. His current mission in Marn is to build up an intelligence network so Dusk and evaluate the threat, if any, that Marn will pose in the future. As of now, Servis has no offensive plans and doesn’t represent a short-term threat to the city or it’s leaders.
Clearly, Servis the Younger is treading on dangerous ground and knows that his head is on the line. He is cautious and will attempt to blend in and be as unobtrusive as possible.
