[Object] Morgehn mask

Developed by Urias Morgehn, the Morgehn mask is a medical device consisting of many tubes and flasks. Its most important piece is the large flask that sits at the mechanism's end, in which a spongy substance is created on demand by action of chemistry and gnomish machinery. During medical procedures, the flask is heated from below and a gas is released into a rubber tube, which flows into a mask that is strapped onto the face to induce a strong, general anesthetic.
The Morgehn mask is a relatively new, now standardized form of anesthetic which was meant to replace the need to heat a treated sponge and hold it beneath a patient's nose during painful procedures. It is used widely across Eyropa where magic-based healing is not available or where numbing is still required.
The mechanism it relies on is relatively large, and thus must generally be used in a permanent location, such as a hospital or temple. However, portable versions of the mask exist. Solutions of the resulting spongy agent can be bottled, attached to the mask, and vaporized. The agent is only stable for 48 hours once it is created, hence why the entire mechanism has become popular.
Marn Hospital relies heavily on the Morgehn mask for its surgical procedures for those patients who have not consented to magical treatments.
