by Lokkran Trys
Name: Lokkran Trys.
Age: 23.
Race: Human.

Physical Description: Lokkran is a young man of average height standing at 5'8'' tall. He is not overly muscular yet his muscles are somewhat toned and his build is also rather average as well. His hair he keeps cut quite short, sporting only black stubble atop his head. His features are sharp and his one major characteristic would be his eyes; born with heterochromia, Lokkran sports a light green eye and a light blue eye. Though normally covered, Lokkran's arms are covered in a twisted design of black ink tattoos which stretch down to and around his fingers.

Possessions:Leather Pack- This pack includes some essentials such as his Bishani, food, water, a few small tools used for his tailoring and of course his drink and other illicit goods. The items are placed in different individual pockets and the pack rests on his back.

Silver Dagger- Lokkran has a silver dagger concealed which he takes everywhere he goes. It is simple and nothing about it sticks out. There is an inscription on the hilt with his initials "LLT".

Soothing Salve- For his arthritis, Lokkran has learned to procure a cooling and soothing topical salve for his joints which he uses sparingly in times of severe pain.

Kavva (Horse)- Lokkran travels upon an older horse named Kavva that he's had for just a few years. He won her in a bet with a farmer and has traveled with her since. She is a brilliant white mare that sports a dark leather saddle.

Powers or Strengths:Literate- Lokkran can read and write proficiently and sometimes takes his time to write short stories and poems. Writing takes him to another, different, world that he can create and disappear into. Whatever books and scrolls he can get his hands on regardless of the subject are a hobby of his as well.

Street Smarts- From falling into a tougher crowd due to his drug abuse, Lokkran has an understanding of how things work on the streets. From bad dealings to bad drugs, he's seen it all.

Daggers|Thrown Weapons- Due to his arthritic joints Lokkran has made it a point to become proficient with smaller blades and weighted throwing weapons such as knives (even though the knife throwing was usually for bets in taverns and inns) They are less damaging to his joints and he can still be deadly with them.

Tailoring- Lokkran is versed in the arts of Tailoring. He is no master, nor does he use this talent for monetary gains, but he can make clothing if the proper materials are acquired.

Weaknesses and Flaws: Arthritis- Though young, Lokkran has arthritis in his joints which makes lengthy, labor-intensive tasks difficult for him to complete. He is not incapable of working, however, he has to rest for a period of time before continuing any difficult tasks. He has learned to live with it and many days fights through the pain when he can.

Problems with Guards and Authority- Due to his own nature and circumstances Lokkran seems to be in trouble with Guards and other such people of authority. It's not like he intentionally brings it upon himself, he just doesn't get away sometimes.

Irritability- Mainly due to to the pain from his arthritic joints Lokkran can become easily irritated and agitated. Sometimes the things he says are sarcastic, rude, or just downright uncalled for. Some people love him and others don't - It mainly depends on how he's feeling that particular day.

Fear of Water- Lokkran doesn't know why, but he has always been afraid of the water. Lakes, rivers, and the sea are all places that make him cringe. You will rarely find him on a boat or swimming across a lake. In the end, if he absolutely has to he will, but it won't be pretty.

Obsessive Gambling- It is quite hard for Lokkran to pass up or create a bet. He will bet on anything and everything and it has led him down some tough paths in his short life. From owing debts to losing the things he owns he just cannot shake the gambler's way.

Alcoholism- Lokkran is a fan of his drink. He began drinking when he first began gambling and they've gone hand in hand ever since. Many evenings one may find Lokkran in an Inn or Tavern somewhere sampling the fine wine and spirits. As he has always said, the spirits lift his own.

Opium Addict- To counteract the pain in his joints Lokkran often acquires opium to relieve himself of it. He has done so for so long that he has become addicted to the drug and is often in search of more. His gambling and alcoholism combined with his need for opium tend to run his 'coffers' dry.

History:

[Earlier years]
"Wake up. Cah'mon! Wake up!" Lokkran's eyes opened slowly before he felt someone begin to shake him. Slightly startled he jumped up quickly only to be met by his father. His face was worn from age and his skin was wrinkled and seemed like leather. Lokkran's eyes moved about him a moment. There was dirt all over him and the look on his face was less than pleased. "I'm up! I'm up.. what is it?" He spoke, the sleep still seeming to drag him down. His father reached out and smacked him across the face before shaking his head. "Do you have ANY clue what time it is? We've got work to do. Get yourself together!" With that he turned and walked off.

Lokkran placed a hand on his cheek and shook his own head then. He knew he was supposed to be up early to help tend to the fields. The slap had helped to wake him up and at that moment he almost felt ashamed for what he had done. He walked over and grabbed hold of a pair of worn boots and slid them onto his feet before following his father out the door. The fields had already had much work done to them and it had seemed his father had awakened and went straight to work. He attached the rigging of the plough to a healthy looking black mare and began working. He guided the horse as the plough turned up the soil in perfect lines. He had done this hundreds of times before and he knew what to do.

After what seemed to be days of working, Lokkran looked back over his work and nodded to himself. His hands were blistered and stung but he was proud of the work he had done. His father came over then, wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead. "You did good today. We'll finish this up later. Let's go inside and grab a bite." Happily Lokkran followed.

He and his father's shack wasn't much but then again they never really needed much. After harvest Lokkran and his father would take the bounty and make the trip to Marn where they would sell their goods. They never made much, and a few times they had even been robbed, but they always had the things they needed. "Sit down son." His father said, motioning towards an old wooden table with rickety wooden chairs. He sat and looked over. His father was rummaging about through one of the cabinets before withdrawing a single loaf of bread and a very small square of cheese. He made his own way over to the table and sat before splitting the loaf in half and handing Lokkran a piece of the cheese. "Eat up. Need your strength for tomorrow. When these lettuce and onions are ready we're making another trip. If only there was some magic that could make them grow.. NOW." Lokkran just nodded silently and began to eat.

[A couple years later]
The clinking of his blade crashing into the other rang out in the air. Taking a quick sidestep he lunged forward only to have his own blade parried away and a feet sweeping beneath him and bringing him straight to the dirt. "Oof!" He let out, looking up. He shook his head and sighed. His father reached a hand down and lifted him to his feet once again. "You have to be more aware Lokkran! Cah'mon son. Try again!" He lunged again, trying his best to make contact but to no avail. His father took a step to the side and slammed the blade downwards which hurt Lokkran's hand and he let out a low growl. "Aaagh!" He yelled, frustration on his face. Feeling cocky he spun only to be met mid spin by a hilt to the ribs and the end of a blade at his throat. "When you get angry you act irrationally Lokkran. This cannot happen!"

Lokkran hopped up again and brushed off the worn garbs he was sporting. He felt disappointed in himself. He couldn't even best his own father. It irritated him. Sighing he looked down and rubbed his wrist. It was aching fiercely but he held it in. He wouldn't show his father any pain. His father turned and walked off, back into their shack without another word. Lokkran felt even worse.

He followed his father inside where he saw him grabbing his pack and placing supplies into it. "Are we heading for Marn, father?" Lokkran asked. His father merely let out a grunt and nodded to him. "Pack your things. We've got to get these vegetables to the market. Oh, and Lokkran? Remember what I told you." Outside there were already large bags full of different produce and grain stacked. Nearby the cart sat empty waiting to be filled. Lokkran sighed. He already knew who would be filling them. After packing his things and slinging the pack over his shoulders he made his was over to the bags and began to stack them one ontop of the other. After a few minutes the bags were stacked and his father made his way out to the cart where he attached the lines to the two horses that sat waiting. Lokkran hopped up and sat down and his father followed, taking hold of the reigns. "Here we go. We need to make this trip a quick one so we can get back to Shim." His father said before they started off.

[More recently]
Lokkran cringed. His body ached and it almost seemed as though his fingers had swollen beyond what they normally had before. He was leant up against the wall of a building in one of the seedier areas of Marn, the Historic District. He had been looking for something to ease his pain but he had always thought he would have to pay more for actual medicines - so he turned to drugs. One could find opium in the District and he knew that. He had done it before and it seemed to soothe him, the relief washing over his body, and his pain subsiding. It was short-lived though, and Lokkran needed more. The last bit of his bishani would be used to acquire some.

It seemed as though he had been walking forever and with every single step he took he began to feel worse and worse. Until finally it seemed his luck had made a slight turn for the better. Out of the corner of his eye he saw another man. He wasn't wearing anything flashy but he stood out. Lokkran made his way over, slowly, almost sizing up the man as he approached. The man looked him over suspiciously as he grew nearer to him and before he could make it all of the way there he stuck his hand out, indicating him to stop. Without a word he nodded to the side at an alley and walked towards it. Taking the hint, Lokkran followed behind. When he got there, he was greeted by the man and two others. "What is it you're wanting? We've got it all. What do you.. need?" The man spoke in a hushed tone. Lokkran was suspicious of them himself but he in turn replied, "Opium," and said nothing else.

The men nodded and looked at eachother a moment before the man he had followed snapped his fingers. One of the men disappeared into the back of the alley only to return with a small amount wrapped up in paper. "This is going to cost you. Yeah, uh, fourty bishani." Lokkran's eyes widened a bit and he shook his head, sighing. "Fine." He shot back at the man, reaching into his pack. As he reached forward for the opium he used the other hand to pass along the currency and the deal was done. He had gotten what he needed.

[Present Day]
Lokkran sat back in a chair in the corner of the tavern, three bottles of wine already atop the table in front of him and a wide, red-cheeked smile on his face. He was ignorant to the others in the room and at that moment none of them even mattered. His eyes scanned the room. Patrons drinking and buying more, women receiving drinks from those who would like to take them for the night, and the tavern keep keeping a steady flow of alcohol going. This is how he liked to spend his evenings when he had the money to do so and many nights he did.

He had taken to working for a few less than stand-up characters in the Historic District, but it kept the money in his pocket and the drink and opium in his body. He still had no real place to call his own so he took to renting out rooms in the Inns or finding some abandoned ruin in the District to pass out in for the night. Wherever he was at he tried to make it all work out.

Lokkran had attracted a bit of attention from the Guard so for the most part he had been keeping a low profile. The last thing he wanted was to be tortured.. or killed. He had seen some of the brutality that had befallen some of those who had gone before him and he wanted no part in it. He was smart enough to know when things were hot. His plan was to let them simmer down. Then it would be business again as usual. After all, he needed money for the pleasantries as well as to sate his insatiable appetite for gambling. The Bitch's Bite was one such place he frequented and if nowhere else could you find him, he would most likely be there. Making bets.

Sorry no one's gotten to this sooner. It's a busy time of year. There are just a few little things I want to clarify.

So... first of all, I think there are some things in the possessions section you forgot to change when you altered your strengths. If there isn't, then just let me know. You'll also want to check out this link: http://www.tharshaddin.com/wiki/Shim_Agriculture. It's not a huge issue, but there's technically no corn in Thar Shaddin. You might want to add the crime issue with the guard and Lokkran's current work and whatever else as a weakness.

I need to have a better look over it when I get more time, but one last thing for now: although it's not an issue in the app (don't worry about changing it), we generally don't use bolded/coloured text for dialogue when posting.

Reply here when you want it looked at again. Any questions, PM me or just catch me in chat.

I made the necessary changes. Whenever you have time could you look back over the app?

Thanks. :D
