The power to change or manipulate reality through ones imagination.
Strengths:
-Drawing/Painting-
Can draw/paint anything he sees such as food, people, animals, buildings, etc. His paintings done based on things he sees in his dreams appear to be more lifelike, receiving more profit than his non dream paintings. Anything painted outside of his dreams are painted poorly in comparison and receive a much smaller profit.
Weaknesses and Personality Flaws:
-Telepathy-
Happens randomly when in the presence of another person. Limited to only one person and only hearing fragmented thoughts.
-Projection-
Limited to only changing or manipulating reality through paintings done based on his dreams, which happens randomly. The images are contained within the base and media in which they were originally painted. They can move about freely on the surface of the base, but can never leave it. (Ex: A woman can be seen actually dancing across the paper. Tearing up the painting will make it lose its realism, leaving the woman immobilized till the painting is put back together again.)
-An inability to let go of the past-
He is sweet and tender hearted but kinda guarded when it comes to getting close to anyone due to his gifts and his past.
-An inability to trust others-
Having found out early in his life that the only person he could ever truly trust and depend on was himself, he rarely seeks out the help of others.
-Loneliness-
He travels from place to place never staying in one place for too long, taking only the belongings he can carry in the bag on his back or his satchel.
-An inability to form/keep a meaningful relationship with another person-
He has little desire to develop friends or love ones for he will just have to leave them behind when its time for him to move on.
-Addiction to stealing-
Old habits die hard leaving him unable to resist stealing the items he wants when the money isn't available.
History:
Adrien LaRue, nicknamed "Roux" for the redness in his hair, was born to a peasant man and his wife. Adrien's father, Joseph, died when he was 7 yrs old. After witnessing his father's tragic death Adrien's inherited magical powers started to develop. The first and most difficult to control at such a young age was Telepathy, allowing him to hear the thoughts of others inside his head. Adrien's mother, Elisabeth, struggled to raise young Adrien on her own but fell deathly ill when he was 10 yrs old. She passed away leaving him to discover the rest of his magical gifts, Projection, on his own.
He was alone and scared for the first time. He had no other family living and no where else to go. He begged and pleaded with the landlord to let him stay promising he would pay off his parents debt to him. He began to work for the landlord with a promise that he would be able to stay in his parents house as long as he worked for him. Things went smoothly for a few years till everything changed one day when a man and woman came to look at the house. Within a weeks time the home he grew up in was quickly taken away from him by the landlord and he was thrown out into the streets with only the clothes on his back and a black canvas bag containing a loaf of bread and some cheese.
A young lad of only 13 he had to find his own way of getting his food and a roof over his head now. He started out begging people for money. But when he ran out of kind hearted people to beg, he turned to stealing. Stealing money quickly turned into stealing food, clothes, and anything he could get his hands on. For fear of being caught he left his hometown, taking only what he could fit in the black canvas bag he carried on his back, to explore the world. He traveled from town to town living on the streets stealing his way through life, never staying in one place long enough to get too comfortable or well known as he tried to avoid running into anyone that he stole from.
At the age of 16 his life finally took a turn for the better. He stole a painter's supplies and his current painting intending to sell them. He soon found out that the painting done using the supplies would sell for more. He began to draw and paint anything he saw - food, people, animals, buildings, even things he started to see in his dreams. He sold the paintings he made earning little money for the ordinary ones. His dream paintings rendering most of his tender profiting him more than he could steal in one day.
With each dream his paintings were becoming better and better, as was the money he received from them. He saved some of the money to hold him over till he could sell another painting and spent the rest on supplies and food. Instead of staying in rundown buildings sleeping on the cold ground as he had been, he had finally saved up enough money to be able to stay in inns, selling his paintings to afford his room and board. Although not the best rooms available it was still better than what he had before. He wasn't constantly starving all the time either, he could afford a decent meal and was finally starting to afford some decent clothes.
He continued to draw and paint his surroundings waiting for his next dream that would net him more profit. His stealing ways were now reduced down to only little trinkets here and there when the money looked like it would be running low again and he would be needing something to sell to bring it back up.
