Where else do you visit?

Soo...

It's 4 am. I should be sleeping but I have a headache. Fascinating info I know!

I was wondering, for no particular reason I can think of, what other websites do you visit regularly? Something to kill time when bored but you don't want to write, or other RP sites? Maybe some I should link to in the community section?

http://www.somethingawful.com - a certain type of humor you either love or hate.
http://www.wimp.com - tons of amuzing or bizarre videos, updated daily.
isohunt.com & http://www.torrentspy.com - bittorrents of everything. Games, music, movies.

As for RP. I dunno. I have a long list of links that I brows now and then. The places that try to just be portals to other RP sites don't do to well.
If you want to do something a little more adult, you could look at the charenton archives. http://www.gottishuset.com They have some contests and stuff aside from PbP RP but pretty close.

I actually frequent a lot of sites, mainly webcomics. http://www.drunkduck.com, http://www.thesneeze.com, http://www.badbloodcomic.com, http://www.somethingpositive.net, etc. Too lazy to think of and link all of them, but those ones are pretty good.[/url]

Bad blood is decently entertaining. I don't go much other places, the main place I go to must be http://www.wikipedia.com which is a great resource for casual referencing and also for basic information on almost anything, and every so often I check http://www.gamespot.com though my computer is too outdated to keep up with any games that appear on feature these days. When I want to look for a video representation or a show or something, I try http://www.youtube.com

And lastly, http://www.digg.com for easily compartementalized popular news of various kinds, listed by a simple and ingenius ranking system.

I shall have to check out youtube, since that's one I haven't seen. It looks like wimp.com got taken down and replaced with some dump.com which looks about the same.

I'm a big proponent of wikipedia, although I don't end up using it very often. The few times I have used it, it's been quite helpful. I've been working on the play-by-post definition there actually. Unfortunately most of the editing in that area is just people spamming links, and the other people taking them down. A vicious cycle. I've proposed that there be no more external links to pbp boards at all.

I love wikipedia, too, but that's a major downside: the constant editing of controversial topics, most of the time just defacing them. I remember one webcomic artist that put up information there and everyone kept editing about some controversy that had happened, and he had to delete it. I think they have more options, like locking an article, now.

I like wikipedia, but I don't really look at controversial stuff, so I would know about the editting and defacing and whatnot.

Hey, BR, I just noticed something. Your new character sounds very Mord-Sith. Is that just a coincidence, or was it intentional?

kapow, mord sith. Never read the series myself but heard about it.

I dunno, the picture just doesn't seem sinister and evil like the mord-sith. And if it's after the first book, their little pain-rod-thingies (been a while) aren't in use anymore. And are the pain-rod-thingies really that big? Never imagined them so....

Yes, I realize you said you've never read the series. I'm just nitpicky by nature.

It's hard to find art that captures book imagery well, especially for everyone.
Now the discworld art, that's easy to love...

No, their agiels still work after the first book. They just don't have to use them to torture people anymore. I think the description of one was that it was a rod wrapped in red leather, about a foot long, and about the width of a thumb.

Yeah, I remember now about the usage. At the end of Wizard's First Rule (that's the title, right?), Richard said something about destroying them, but changed his mind later. but if that is the description, I always imagined them smaller. I dunno. Guess I should reread the series now...

You know what I think it looks like?

No, you probably don't want to know.

Now that you mention it, I suppose she does act like one. But those women were psychopaths, and Ryxa's a psychopath, so I could see a similarity. XD I love the series. The Mord-Sith rock! I always imagined the rods to be longer than in the picture, but I really have no idea. I think that one's too thick >shrug<

That picture has the most awkward positioning ever, though. (O_o)

Well, not only the psychopath thing, but the red leather gloves, and the ability to cause pain with a touch. They had to use rods, but it's still pretty close.
