Player Name: Sydney
Name: Itsuki Namani
Age: 16
Race: Kitsune
Height: 5'7
Weight: 125
Physical Description: Itsuki has hazel-colored hair that falls just past his shoulder blades; matching bangs gathering just over his left eye, while the right is a faded yellow-gold. He has a narrow facial structure with a thin smile. The light strands are generally kept in a low 'ponytail'. As for the physical traits of his heritage, two auburn fox-ears are constantly perched on his head, a tail on his backside to match. Normally, his attire consists of a snow-white Chinese changshan with onyx, knee-length bottoms.
Possessions: A faded strip of black silk with a small silver bell at the end is what he treasures most; as well as a well-kept naginata. The sword has a finished dark blue hilt, and an old, yet capable blade. Said blade is made of fine silver and it is about the length of his arm. There is no need for anything else, for most things are held in an old home of his. These things are normally shiny or valuable, as beautiful things attract him.
Powers or Strengths: To a kitsune, their illusions are reality. What they make, for them, and for others, is as real as anything found or crafted in nature. Anything that a kitsune builds or transforms, becomes what the kitsune desired. A kitsune can make people, animals, and objects, which can't be distinguished from the real thing.
A form of mind control, the kitsune ability of 'seduction' is one of the most commonly-mentioned skills in legends. By using their tail or tails in a swaying manner, or by meeting the gaze of a target, the kitsune is capable of taking over their mind. While under the control of the kitsune, the victim sees, thinks, and lives in a world designed by the kitsune, all inside the target's mind. The target is controlled until someone breaks the magic the kitsune's using. This mind control is purely by magic, mind you, and can be broken by certain magics, or wards.
By rubbing their tails together, a kitsune can make lightning or fire. The kitsune can also, to a small range, breathe out fire.
Kitsune can also make small 'fox lanterns', by producing small balls of fire to float around them, and guide their way. This fire can be used as a weapon, or as a toy.
Aside from magical abilities, Itsuki has one strength: Swordsmanship. He started the strenuous training around ten, when given a naginata from his father-figure.
Weaknesses: Kitsune have difficulty hiding their tails when they take human form, and their shadows show their true form always, no matter the transformation.
Exorcism, often performed at an Inari shrine, may induce a fox to leave its host if it is possessing someone.
Other than kitsune abilities, Itsuki has no natural strength whatsoever. Unfortunately, he also has a lack of strength in using Kitsune Seduction. Those of certain faiths who actually possess faith (read: Clerics, Priests, Monks, Healers) do not see kitsune illusion. In fact, if they touch an illusion made by a kitsune, the illusion will dissolve. The distruction of a kitsune's illusions by faith is a traumatic event to a kitsune, as their concept of reality gets destroyed.
History: Itsuki was born about sixteen years ago. His exact birth date is unknown, but is said to be in February. When born, Itsuki was given to a shopkeeper, in Zhaltev, by his parents. By then he was around one year old, and is pained now that he cannot conjure his parents' faces within his mind. The shopkeeper that agreed to take him gave a grim smile when asked, and said he could not remember the appearence of Itsuki's parents.
Unfortunately, Imai, the shopkeeper, had two children of his own; no wife. He never said what happened to her, however, Itsuki knew she must have left him by the look of regret and anger in Imai's ageing eyes. 'Unfortunately', because of the money issues already in play. Now with Itsuki, the Namani household was worse off. Imai was an 'exotic goods' shopkeeper, meaning anything he sold would be a normally hard find.
Over time, Itsuki learned a bit of theiving skills from hard times, which in turn helped his father-figure with buisness. At the age of ten, Itsuki learned a bit more of his parents, although not much. Imai spilled their images to him, and requested he learned to use his mother's weapon of choice. That was when he received the naginata left by his mother. Imai said that Itsuki's father was the one to give him the bell he holds dearly.
At thirteen, Itsuki found one of his 'sisters' (Imai's daughter) weeping over the body of Imai. Frozen in shock, Itsuki could do nothing. Someone or something had killed him. By the looks of it, it was magic, because of the lack of wounds. Itsuki was left to take care of Imai's two daughters. He took on the family surname Namani, and continued to do the old shopkeepers work until the sisters turned twelve just a year later. Itsuki was now fourteen, and was left alone when an orphanage at a nearby church heard of their predicament. They had taken the girls, ignoring the kitsune.
Now sixteen, Itsuki is far past used to being alone and working for food. He left the Namani buisness after his sisters were taken, and settled for taking up any job offered. Over time, his cool and childish personality had morphed into one of bitter tongues and the hatred for humanity. The kitsune is sadistic in nature, and does not like to be kept quiet.
