Player Name:
Name: Gullus Farsaid (GUY-us far-SAID)
Age: 31
Race: Human
Height: 6 feet, 4 inches
Weight: 155 pounds
Physical Description: Gallus is a tall man with dark brown hair, which he wears at medium length. His hair tends to hang over his forehead in bangs, and he usually tucks it back behind his ears to keep from impeding his vision. He has a strong, athletic build from a life of Knight training. He tends to wear a dark blue tunic under a leather vest, and his family’s Coat of Arms is stitched into the back of this vest in silver thread. The emblem is a pair of longswords crossing just below the hilt and pointing downward, and surrounded by a halo of daggers pointing outwards. Gallus’s eyes are a dark forest green flecked with lighter shades of jade, and he typically has a rough line of stubble on his jaw. His nose is slightly crooked, having been broken and improperly reset in a past conflict. It is interesting to note that along with his sword belt, Gallus also wears a second belt around his hips festooned with throwing knives.
Possessions: Gallus carries a single steel longsword, a short arming dagger, and twenty small, weighted throwing knives. He wears light armor, consisting of a leather backed chainshirt that he wears under his clothes, and leggings of similar make. He also wears a pair of steel plated bracers along the backs of his forearms, and matching steel greaves over his shins. Gallus almost always wears gloves, and rarely bares his arms. This is because his hands and forearms are covered in red, twisted scar tissue from severe burns, and people have a tendency to stares. Since the stares discomfort him, he hides the scars.
Powers or Strengths: Gallus has no magical abilities, but is physically strong, and very skilled with blades. He has an unorthodox method of fighting, which earned him a bit of disdain among other Knights. Gallus’s skills focus on wielding a sword, a dagger, and throwing knives as is appropriate for the situation. He is capable of hurling the daggers with impressive force and accuracy, and has tricked more than one poor sod into a game of darts that cost the man his pay. Gallus is also a decent tactician, and Honorable enough when it suits him.
Weaknesses: Gallus has a deep seated fear of fire, to the point that large blazes will cause him to flee in terror, or become immobilized by fear. Small, controlled flames, such as cook fires, discomfort him, but do not have the same effect as a roaring inferno. Gallus is not one to voice his complaints, instead preferring to solve his own problems without involving others. This can be frustrating to those around him, and can often lead to him getting into bad situations. When someone forces him to accept their help, he’s often very gruff or rude about it, and is unlikely to give any sort of thanks. Gallus has a love of alcohol, bordering on the unhealthy, and when intoxicated his more unsavory qualities come forth.
History: Gallus was born into a comfortable life, his father and mother being minor nobility. Doted on by his mother and educated by his father, Gallus was brought up in the way of the sword. His father hoped to make a knight of him, and Gallus, having been brought up on tales of the honor and glory of knighthood, was only too eager to learn what his father had to teach him. He was taught to read and write during his early years, and also taught basic mathematics, but when he reached the age of ten, Gallus took up the sword for the first time. He worked hard for many years to earn his skills with a blade, whether on foot or mounted on the back of a horse. He was an energetic youth with a large heart, and when he was finally old enough to be a squire, he took his duties very seriously.
As a squire, Gallus saw the darker side of his chosen path. His homeland was at war, and it wasn't long before Gallus' knight mentor, Ser Lockley, was called into battle. Gallus, being the man's squire, was happy to go with him, and thought that he would finally get a taste of the adventures he had so often read about as a child. He quickly learned that the stories he had read were nothing more than tales to excite children. Exposed to blood and battle and hardships, Gallus was disheartened and horrified by the things he saw so called "honorable knights" doing both on and off the field of battle. During an ambush in a small town, Gallus was trapped inside a burning home and left for dead by Ser Lockley. He managed to escape the inferno, but not before his arms and hands were severely burned in the process, and stricken with a terrible fear of the flames which had so nearly consumed him.
Far from home and with no coin to his name, Gallus had to learn how to fend for himself, and quickly. Supplementing his blade skills by learning how to throw knives, Gallus cast aside the lofty aspirations of knighthood, and settled for simply surviving
