Name: Known only as Wolfhound
Age: Unknown – Roughly in his middle twenties
Height: 6”1
Gender: Male
Race: Half shape shifter, half Wolf
Hair: Jet-black goes to halfway down nose
Eyes: A glowing yellow, slightly narrower than normal

Physical Appearance: Wolfhound has two appearances. The first is his normal most used state. At first glance he seems human, but actually has many wolf like qualities about him. He has more pointed ears than normal, his eyes are much narrower than a humans and his nose is much wider than a normal humans. He is well built, with the work he does needing him to be in perfect health, he keeps himself very physically fit and agile.

In his transformed state, Wolfhound has 2 inch claws instead of nails, his ears are more pointed, and covered in fur, his eyes take on the exact shape of a wolfs, and his two canine teeth grow larger and become sharper. His muscles also seem to rip and grow back larger as he transforms, giving him extra strength, speed and agility.

Equipment: Wolfhound carries nothing but his clothes, a dark black cloak, which he uses to help slink back into the shadows and to cover his odd face when he does not need to be noticed. In terms of weaponry, he carries only knives; he keeps them in almost every place he can, up his sleeves, in his belt, behind his neck, in his boots and up his trousers. Each knife has been crafted for perfect balance, and they are the only things he cherishes.

Powers:

Knives: Wolfhound is a blade master when it comes to knives, and each one of his blades bears a swan on the hilt and blade to signify this, a custom he learnt was used from the village his mother came from. He uses slight of hand to produce his blades from various places on his body without his opponent seeing it, and many years of intense training with his creators and then continued practice by himself allowed him to call himself a blade master when it comes to knives.

Wolf speak: Wolfhound was created by using magic to bind the DNA of a shape shifter and a wolf. Wolves communicate using a combination of emotions and images, which transform them selves into words in Wolfhounds head. The wolves see him as the leader among leaders of the packs. Wolves will not hesitate to save Wolfhounds life and vice versa, they are the only friends he has.

Sight and smell: The wolf DNA also gave him the ability to see almost perfectly at night, hence the yellow eyes, ability to smell is so intense that if he knows your scent as is near enough, he can pinpoint your exact location.

Shape shift: Wolfhound has the ability to shape shift into a part wolf like creature. The magic used during the transformation enhances the ability somewhat on top of what it would do normally. Wolfhounds eyes become the exact shape of a wolfs, his ears grow even more pointed and they grow fur, he grows two inch claws instead of nails and he grows fangs. The effect it gives is increased strength so much that he could lift five times as much as a human could. His speed and agility increases so that a human would only just be able to make out the movements, let alone blocking attacks.

Weaknesses:

The increased night sight greatly decreases his daytime vision. He has no control over his nose and will also smell all the vulgar things, such as urine, wastage and so forth, but to a greatly magnified state, which can sometimes make it hard for him to concentrate and also it makes him dizzy. Wolfhound spends much of his time in cities, and not many wolves are willing to accompany him there, at most there would be two wolves willing, but for most packs none or maybe one would come with him. He can only stay in his transformed state for a limited period of time, it wears his energy down greatly, and if he stays in it for two long then his body would try to force him to change back, which could lead to his death. Also to a human, elf, drow and other creatures with simular a ability range he might appear extremly fast, but to a supernatural creature such as a Nypmh, half dragon, vampire he would easily be the weaker opponent

Wolfhound also carries great emotional baggage, never having been able to meet his mother, knowing only as much as he has been able to find out about her is a great weight. On top of that he has to live with the fact that he was created for one purpose, to kill as an assassin, giving him a great hatred for all assassins and he spends his time hunting him down and his anger can often get in the way while fighting them.

History:

Wolfhound was created by a group of mages using magic to mix the blood of a female shape shifter and a male wolf. The mages wished to use him as the perfect assassin in order for them to take all his fees and once finished with him, kill him. The mages used magic to speed his growth until he reached the age of ten. From there they begun training him in his ability to transform and how to use his eyes, ears and nose to the best of his ability. The mages also had knife and slight of hand experts brought in to train him in his knife ability.

One the eve of his twentieth birthday, he overheard a conversation between the mages saying how tomorrow they would finally put him into use by eliminating his first target. Once he realized that they meant to use him as an assassin he went into a rage, transformed and set about killing every single mage there. The last one, he kept alive just long enough to find out he had been created, where his mother had come from, and that they had killed her once they didn’t need her anymore. After ripping out the mages throat with his teeth, he left to find his mothers village. He found it after a year of searching, and discovered much about his dead mother. He also learnt of the blade master custom used in his village. He was tested and successfully completed the test and so was awarded a selection of swan marked blades as proof of being a blade master.

Not long after he became a blade master, he left the village and became a freelancer who protected potential targets against assassins. He made quite a name for himself in certain parts of the world as none of his targets ever died whilst in his protection. When not employed by someone he spends his time hunting down every assassin he can find, knowing what he was created for makes him hate that very thing to the core and he will not rest until every assassin is dead. Wolfhound came to Thar Shaddin on the information that an assassin had also arrived there; he hopes to kill the assassin before the assassin kills anyone else.
