FUSHA

The Basics

Age: 4 human years (29 canine years)
Race: Shapeshifter - Human/Coyote
Gender: Female
From/Location: Woods outside Shim
Language(s): Common (brief knowledge)

Description/Personality

Human: At only four human years, Fusha is already full grown. She takes on the maturity and appearance that she would have if she was the age of her coyote form, which in four years, is 29. Fusha is relatively short at around 5'2", weighing 76 pounds. She has silvery white hair that is cut a few inches below her shoulders. She prefers not wearing clothing at all, mainly because she prefers to be in her true form, the snow coyote, and doesn't shift or wear clothing unless she is hunting or doing something else that requires it.

She has a scraggly appearance which is accented by several bones, specifically her rib cage, showing through her skin. Lean muscle is all she can afford, and all she can build up, making her very light and not very strong. Her eyes are a deep violet and reflect a deep cynicism in which her knowledge of what life really is, a game of survival, prevails. On the left side of her face lies a jagged scar which was imprinted on her face after fighting a bear. She has not attacked a bear since. Her feral instincts often prevail even when she is in human form, taking her to a state of mind in which survival is the only coherent thought, and whatever needs to happen to allow her survive is justified in her mind, and often makes her outwardly look like an untamed beast.

Coyote: In her true form, the coyote, Fusha has a winter coat, peculiar for her location. A blend of white, gray, and a hint of orange compose her fur, that is unusual around Thar because it doesn't snow much, hinting that she might have originated from somewhere else. Standing erect, she is about three feet tall, and has a normal weight for a coyote, lean but not lanky.

Personality: A shy woman, she does not know many other people, and knows all the horrors of life. She has lived alone with only one goal for as long as she can remember. That goal is to find out what the letter she was left with as a child means. Fusha is very cynical of all life forms, giving her a seemingly mean aura. However, she is actually quite neutral and is more concerned with the well-being of those she trusts than the law or what her actions might make others think of her. At the moment the only things she trusts are herself and her wolf, but in her mind she knows she will protect any she does trust with a passion, because of her numerous years without anyone.

Possessions

She has one set of leather armour for hunting with, and generally wears a cowled cloak on top of that, which is colored dark green. She has meager possessions that include mainly things scrounged from the forest. These include: a homemade dagger made from the glass shards of a beer bottle and a piece of wood for the handle, leather armour, a camouflaged and cowled cloak, and a mysterious letter that she woke up with in the first memory she has. There is also a certain wolf that she rescued when it was a baby as it's pack was attacked. The wolf has grown up to like Fusha, and sometimes hunts with her. It is the only thing she trusts and can call a friend.

Strengths

Unconventional fighting style: Fusha was left in the woods with nothing but a mysterious letter that she was too young to read, so she had to adapt to life in the wilderness with no helper but the animals. She learned to hunt by studying the habits of other predators and developed a fighting style unique to herself. She observed that many times animals hunt in packs and this gives them a great advantage, so she figured out a way to simulate having multiple people attacking her target. It involves being able to stay undetected until attacking and attacking from many angles at once using thrown projectiles that ricochet off trees or other obstacles. She hurls rocks so they will bounce off obstacles and back at or in front of an animal, repeating this several times so that they are confused. She is then able to move in and finish the confused animal off relatively easily with her glass dagger.
Discipline: Fusha witnessed how wolves hunt and was able to realize that half of the battle was discipline. She is able to control her body and mind how she wants, being able to repel the influence of adrenaline and the like.
Stealth: Due to her uncanny dexterity and agility as well as her observance, Fusha is able to be very stealthy and needs to rely on this much of the time to survive.
Tracking: Fusha can track uncannily. She is able to tell the animal, almost exactly how long ago it passed, and it's weight just from looking at tracks. She is also very good at spotting them in the first place, making her a great asset for search parties and hunting parties.
Ingenuity: Fusha needs to be able to make things out of mundane materials. She is able to craft rough versions of most things with just the materials found in the forest.
Hearing: Due to her kanine genetics, Fusha has an amazing sense of hearing. She can hear a twig break in the forest several feet away, meaning it is very difficult to sneak up on her even if you are behind her.
Sense of Feeling: Due to her vulnerable skin, Fusha has developed an adept sense of feeling. This can be good for some things like judging how much off she has to aim because of wind when throwing, but bad because she is more sensitive to things like the weather.
Feral Instincts: Her feral instincts often prevail even when she is in human form, taking her to a state of mind in which survival is the only coherent thought, and whatever needs to happen to allow her survive is justified in her mind. In this state of mind, she has heightened senses and awareness, as well as strength, but her mind is reduced to the state of thinking of an animal.

Weaknesses

Unconventional fighting style: If Fusha is unable to distract her target or fails to finish them on her first real attack, she is left very vulnerable due to her lack of training in combat.
Education: Fusha never received an education and therefore cannot speak well or read and write. This can prove a big disadvantage when trying to communicate with other sentient beings.
Feral Instincts: When in her primal state of mind, she is reduced to a state of thinking parallel to that of and actual coyote. She cannot make advanced decisions and often ends up making bad choices.
Social: Due to her childhood being spent without any other people around her, she often doesn't know how to react when others try to interact with her.
Toughness: For some reason, Fusha has very delicate and sensitive skin. She thinks it may be some rare genetic disease from the kanine genetics mixing with human genetics. However, it limits her significantly because what may be just a scratch for some could turn into a large cut for her.
Vision: For some reason, Fusha has poor eye sight. This is the opposite of most coyotes but something Fusha has had to deal with her entire life.
Shift Confinement: Because of her shapeshifting qualities, Fusha should be able to shape shift as she pleases, but one’s clothes and possessions do not shift with one’s body, which means that others can control her shifting by putting a collar or other restrictive device on her.
Weight: Because of her slight build and the skinniness that comes from fending for yourself in the wild, Fusha can be "manhandled" or tossed around very easily.

History

Fusha does not know where she was born, but her first memory was waking up lying on her back in the forest. She did not know where she was or why she was there, but she was.

She thinks she was around one year old at the time. She discovered her only possessions were a letter and some ragged linen clothes. Her first goal was just to survive. For the first few days, she was too helpless to do anything anything, so she just hid and watched. She was afraid, and spent several sleepless nights shivering in the cold and occasionally crying in pity for herself. After a while, she became less afraid and started to search for some food, for she was starving. She soon started to improve at sneaking around and within a few days found berries and a small stream to drink from. She then began to learn the skills of the hunt. At first she would just tail a wolf or pack of wolves while they hunted to see how they did things. She would then go and pretend to do what she had observed by herself. Eventually she felt confident enough to attempt her first hunt.

She stalked a medium size rabbit into a clearing, and after gathering her thoughts, attacked. She took one of the stones she had gathered and threw it just farther than where the rabbit was, attempting to scare it back towards her. Not wasting time to see if it worked, she dashed just to the side where she knew had a bush that would camouflage her perfectly. The first part of her attack worked just as planned, and as the rabbit ran past, she struck at it with the second rock she had gathered. It was a miss. The rabbit then nimbly hopped off faster than she could follow. She was frustrated. However, with perseverance, she was finally able to catch a rabbit a few days later. It was the best thing she had ever tasted. She went on and trained her skill to the point where she could hunt rabbit consistently and effectively.

Nearly a year later, she watched a pack of wolves, hoping to tail their hunting party, as she always enjoyed the grace of watching wolves hunt. As the wolves left however, she noticed a wolf pup left behind. As she watched, the whole pack abandoned one of their own. Disgusted by the other wolves and entranced in the beauty of the pup, she waited until the rest of the wolves were long gone before moving in to check on it. It turned out that the pup had a problem with it's right eye, probably a birth defect. Not wanting to leave the cute thing there helpless, she gathered it in her arms and took it back to the stream with her, where she had created a small shelter. From then on, she fed it part of what she caught until it was old enough to hunt on it's own. She then brought it on hunting trips with her and helped it learn to hunt. As the years went by, the pup proved to be a valuable asset not only on the hunt, but as a long-needed companion as well.

Her first contact with another person came not too long after. As she was getting ready to attack a rabbit, suddenly a long projectile protruded from it's neck and it flopped over, lifeless. She was almost shocked out of her hiding place, but managed to keep control, and watched as a large person looking somewhat similar to herself walked in and grabbed the rabbit. She was outraged. She had gone through all the work to track the stupid thing and hadn't gotten to eat it. In her outrage, she acted before thinking and threw one of her rocks at the person. She hit him right in the back of the head, and he whirled around, scanning the forest for any sign of life. His eyes locked with hers and for a few terrible seconds, she thought she was discovered, but then his eyes moved on to scan the rest of the area. His scan came up short, and she sighed silently, relieved at his failure to notice her. She didn't know if she would be able to fight him like she did the other animals.

She tailed the man, and he eventually came to the outskirts of some kind of what looked to be a collection of shelters to her, for she did not know what a village was. She decided to stay in the tree line outside the city, for the plain landscape did not offer much in the direction of cover. As she watched, several others like the one she followed appeared from the shelters, walked around, then entered another one of the shelters. From that day on, she has made it her goal to be known among those people, and eventually accomplish her ultimate goal of knowing what the letter she found herself with on that first unfortunate day means.

Note: This is revised from before, hopefully you can review it before I actually get permission so I'm ready to play when I do. If not, then... I don't know xD

First of all you need to include the character's name at the top of the profile. Secondly, I just wanted to mention that it rarely snows around Marn but that doesn't mean that you can't have an animal with a white coat.

Oops, sorry, I thought I put the name in. Also, I'll revise the part about the winter... I thought that was the case, I have a plan in my head that I'll add in...

Edited.

I'm edging in on this app cuz I don't wanna go to bed!

But seriously.

The one thing that punches me in the face is the unconventional fighting style. At first I thought you meant that she'd hit her enemies from multiple angles by some arcane means, but then I realized by the history that she was simply using misdirection and not hitting them from multiple angles. Please change the wording to make that more clear to easily muddled minds. Also, as she would not have the muscle necessary (as a very young child) to throw stones hard enough to kill something you might want to have her figure out a simple sling/slingshot of some kind. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWHV2WYdfTI ooohhhh yeahhhh) Or, even traps.
Feral Instincts: When in her primal state of mind, she is reduced to a state of thinking parallel to that of an enraged animal. She cannot make advanced decisions and often ends up making bad choices.
This is more of a thought question than a request for you to change it, but why enraged? Coyotes tend to be shy, playful animals that get out of the immediate vicinity of larger predators. Coyotes aren't stupid. I like the idea that her thinking mind is overruled by her coyote's instincts, but I don't really understand why enraged.
She thinks she was around one year old at the time. She discovered her only possessions were a letter and some ragged linen clothes. Her first goal was just to survive. For the first few days, she was too helpless to do anything anything, so she just hid and watched.
Unless being a coyote shifter means she matures super fast, that seems like a helluva lot of thinking and planning for a one year old (unless I'm reading it wrong?).
