Physical Description: Tatiana more resembles a child than a grown woman. She has long auburn hair down to her waist that she usually keeps in a ponytail. Her skin is slightly tan (thinking southern Italian) and her eyes are green. Her wings resemble that of a dragonfly, simple and oval shapes. They have a subtle silvery tint to them with a small line of black on the edges. She always wears an obnoxious amount of jewelry: A ring on every finger, a few necklaces, a few gold armbands, three or so anklets per foot, and two or so bracelets on each arm. Her yellow haired bear form looks more as if it is a stuffed animal than a tiny killing machine. At just over four foot tall her bright green eyes look like buttons and her fur is incredibly soft. She most resembles a miniature kodiak.
Possessions: An assortment of jewelry that she has collected over the years and a small knife with a pink handle and blue stones set in the blade.
Strengths/Powers:
Fire Manipulation – Even though her father is an accomplished mage Tatiana has only been able to get a grasp of controlling fire, and even that is limited. She cannot make fire from nothing, but she can control already existing fires up to the size of a small bush. She can control fire up to twenty feet away.
Teddy Power – In her bear form Tatiana may look small and nonthreatening but it holds the strength of a full grown grizzly.
Adorable – In any form Tatiana looks about as able to kill a man as an elephant is to fly. Her less fortunate enemies drop their guard at her sight allowing her to get an early edge in a fight.
Stealth – Being less than a foot tall is extremely advantageous when you want to eavesdrop on a conversation or sneak into someones house. One just has to be wary of being stepped on.
Magic Resistance – Being a highly magical creature Tatiana copes with the effects of most magical attacks much better than most others.
Tunnel Vision – Tatiana has a knack for keeping completely focused on the task at hand. Blind to everything around her, she focuses relentlessly on whatever problem is right in front of her. This makes her very cool and calculating in battle as well as a persistent problem-solver.
Weaknesses:
Cute as a Button – Most people find it impossible to take Tatiana seriously due to how small and innocent looking she is. The more she pleads with someone to listen to her the less they will pay attention.
Shiny Things! – Tatiana is obsessed with shiny things and jewelry. She is easily distracted by the glint of gold and the shine of a precious gem. She will do anything and pay any price for certain items. She will even turn on her allies for the right piece.
Physical Resistance – Tatiana cannot take much physical damage. Her organs are more crowded than normal and closer to the surface of her body due to her small size, so when she is hit the pain is much more intense. This makes combat complicated, seeing as most of her offensive abilities require her to be within arm length of an opponent.
Inconsistent Transformations – When Tatiana transforms she has to use a great deal of concentration to do it properly. If she shifts without this concentration her magic goes haywire and she ends up with a random, usually useless, transformation. Example: Goldfish, tabby cat, hummingbird, etc....
Super Serial – Tatiana has almost no sense of humor. Her stringent upbringing has sucked almost all of the childlike and fun loving attributes out of her personality.
Cold Resistance – Tatiana hails from the south and her small form is not built for insulation. She gets cold easily and her magical abilities weaken in cooler surroundings.
History:
Tatiana hails from a forest between Keir and Athena where she was raised by her parents in their small faerie community. Tatiana's father was the leader of her tribe and an accomplished mage. He is a very stringent, almost militaristic, man who puts the needs of his people above all else. In this sense he taught and trained Tatiana, his only child. Tatiana's mother is a powerful fae shifter and has trained her in the ways of shifting.
Tatiana would never call her childhood difficult. She is the daughter of the chief of her community, and holds herself as such. She has trained hard all of her life trying to catch up to her powerful and accomplished parents. When she was only six she had accomplished her first shift, which nearly ended her life. Her mother was a bear shifter, therefor Tatiana knew that she would also be a bear shifter if she had the gift. With all of her concentration she attempted to focus on what her mother called the “bear spirit” and make the physiological change. She did succeed in shifting, but she was not a bear. She shifted into a trout and flopped to the ground in a panic. She nearly suffocated before she was able to bring herself back to her faerie form. It was clear to her parents that the magic in her was different. Her father immediately took charge of her training and began relentlessly teaching her. From that moment on the only life she knew was her father's intense teaching.
Because of her upbringing Tatiana has never had a proper childhood, not that she minds. She feels that the children around her were hopeless and weak. She despises the thought of playing and doing nothing. In her mind the only thing one should focus on is their current goal. She is obsessive and relentless in pursuit of whatever she is concentrated on. The only indulgence she welcomes is jewelry. For her birthday each year her father would give her a piece of jewelry. Gold necklaces, rings with shining gems in them, even a knife with smooth blue stones embedded in the blade.
As she's grown closer to adulthood she has become painfully aware of how others view her. She is small, and retains a childlike appearance. Her innocent air is in direct contradiction to her serious personality. Tatiana becomes infuriated by those who do not take her seriously, but at the same time knows that her appearance gives her an edge, so she relents to the way she looks.
After years of combat and magic training Tatiana considered herself a failure. In her efforts she had not gotten nearly as powerful as her father, only able to get a real grasp of elemental fire. She could not move anything else to her will even with weeks on end of intense study. She had only made small steps in controlling her shifting as well. She could only take her bear form properly with intense concentration. She otherwise made random transformations that were completely out of her control. Her father believes that the intense amount of mixed magic is the root of her difficult shifts.
Soon after turning seventeen Tatiana decided that the only way that she could possibly become a competent leader and a master of her abilities would be to leave her home. She'd heard of Thar Shaddin from the elders and how they treated those with magic in their blood. She felt that if she could survive in the region then she could hone her abilities. She also hoped that there was a possibility of finding someone who may teach her something that her father could not. So, to her parents' great dismay, she set off to Shaddin, promising to return as a great leader that could succeed her father. She flew most of the way to her destination and hid in the forest to sleep. She encountered no real difficulty in her journey, keeping to her smaller form most of the time and moving around anyone who would wish her harm. Occasionally she stopped to acquire new pieces of jewelry, either by honest means or theft. She has just arrived outside of Shim, looking to get into the city and find something or someone who can help her become more powerful.
