by Sorik
Name: Sorik Kelfast
Age: Unknown to him at least, but by physical apperances around 30
Race: Human

Physical Description: Sorik Kelfast is a beast of a man even outside his armor, He stands almost eight feet tall and is immensely muscular. Sorik reigns from the region of Norroenirlund so his armor is adorned with furs of animals from the region to help keep him warm and also denotes his status as a warrior. Sorik keeps his dark brown hair short except for his beard which is about six inches in length. Sorik wears a set of armor that is Dark grey in color adororned with many battle scars with chainmail gloves thick leather boots, and a cape made of a large grey wolf. Finally most of his body is covered with tribal tattoos none of which he knows the meaning to.

Possessions:
Sorik's Armor
Sorik's armor is old but well taken care of, it has withstood the test of time and from what Sorik can tell it has been passed down for a few generations of his family judging from the runes engraved inside of it.

Sorik The Hammer
Of the three weapons that Sorik Carrys, the first is a hammer. Its a single handed hammer about two and a half feet long with the head being made of a tempered steel. "Sorik" is engraved on the side of it.

Kelfast The AX
The second weapon that Sorik carries is an Ax again one handed and made of tempered steel. The ax shows more wear than the hammer and has “Kelfast” engraved on the side of it.

ulv morder the sword
Sorik’s final weapon is a Two handed sword which he dubbed “ulv morder” after killing a wolf, that currently is makes his cape it is the only weapon he remembers naming and is his favorite to use.
Strengths:
Seasoned Warrior
Sorik is a Veteran of many battles and hunts, so fighting comes second nature to him. He will not actively seek out fights but when push comes to he is more than capable of beating his opponent outright.
Hunter
Living in an artic environment quickly teaches you “hunt or die” and seeing as how Sorik isn’t dead yet, he knows how to hunt. Sorik can track large animals, set some traps, and can use a bow or hunting spear to take down animals about the size of an elk or smaller. He also knows how to skin and cook the animals he hunts, as is hunter fashion.

Tough
Sorik is very muscular and also a seasoned warrior so it takes a bit to hurt him. Sorik can shrug off most small wounds (ie one or two arrows a few sword cuts etc) and will ignore most others until they can be treated.

Resastance to Cold
As he is from the north where snow is a plenty, it takes a lot to make Sorik feel any hint of chill what so ever. This makes weather effects such as rain snow sleet etc, have little effect on him. Though as an adverse effect, he is not a huge fan of the heat.

Intimidation
Since Sorik Kelfast is a rather large tattoo covered individual, also wearing a large set of armor adorned with furs of large animals, he can be quite intimidating when he needs to be. This has gotten him both in trouble and out of trouble, where people either want to fight him or run away respectively.

Weaknesses:
Amnesia
Sorik suffers from a mild case of amnesia, he only remembered his name by putting the pieces together on his weapons and armor, so he has no recollection of where he came from, aside from the north, or who is family is or even what clan he was from.

illiterate
Sorik only knows the runes and markings that his people have used for centuries, any formal set of writing used he cannot read

Mistrust of Technology and Magic

technology, he doesn’t trust it (he considers it sorcery) and also doesn’t really see the value of it. Anything tech that uses non man power (ie steam or magic) Sorik wont use or it would take some heavy convincing for him to use it. This also applies to magic in general, so any witches, shape shifters, or magic users in general have to prove there trustworthy before Sorik will even begin to talk to them.

Overconfidence
Sorik knows he’s big, tough, and a decent fighter, so this can cause him to get into situations that he shouldn’t have gotten into in the first place such as running headfirst into a lion’s den.

stubborn
Sorik is not one to admit to being weak in anyway, even if it means that he might be killed. Sorik will usually refuse help from anyone unless its absolutely necessary, be it with trying to move something or treating wounds. This has caused him to have several near death experiences from not seeking treatment after fighting large creatures, due to his overconfidence, and nearly bleeding out or being poisoned and not seeking treatment.

Misplaced
Sorik Kelfast is a large Nordic warrior, not something you see every day, and because of this Sorik has encountered a lot of ridicule and also feels that he doesn’t belong anywhere due to his lack of past. This has caused him to travel helping out villages where he can to try and fit in somewhere, though it never works out and he moves on. Due to this he never really fits in well anywhere and its hard for him to talk to people.

History:
Sorik was born into battle. The first thing he remembers is seeing warriors like himself clashing in combat and then blackness. After awakening Sorik Kelfast pulled himself out of the snow and flexed letting the ice crack away from the joints in his armor. Looking around the battle that once was had ended. all that remained were the bodies of the dead and the scavengers eating the fallen. Looking to the North he saw a large expanse of water, something his brain told him he was an ocean, and several large ships sailing away. As he ran toward them, hoping that maybe someone was still there to tell him who he was. As he was running he tripped over a body in the snow. After realizing what he tripped over he investigated the body, seeing as the person he tripped over was still alive, Sorik immediately began to question the person he stumbled over. The old man, who was from a rival clan, though Sorik didn’t know it, simply laughed at him and said “Ha, Better head south boy, the rest of us will come and wipe your clan off the face of this land”. In a rage Sorik finished the mans suffering with his hammer and started walking south, heading the advice none the less. As he walked Sorik looked over the equipment he was carrying, a hammer, with Sorik engraved on it, and an ax with Kelfast engraved on it. He couldn’t understand but he knew that these words held meaning to him somehow. Before he could decipher anymore of his thoughts, He heard the howling of a rather large wolf, looking before him stood to what his brain told him was the pack leader. The large creature snarled at him to which Sorik gladly returned, grabbing a large sword half buried in the snow near him as he prepared to fight. The fight lasted for nearly a half an hour before Sorik finally felled the beast. Having suffered wounds himself he unbuckled his armor to attend to them only to find more Runes on the inside of his armor naming the previous owners, each name ending in Kelfast. Sorik, after attending to his wounds, figured that Sorik Kelfast must be his name, and thus he has called himself such since. To mark the occasion he made a cloak out of the wolf and kept the sword naming it “Ulv Morden”, for its help in slaying the wolf.

Many days past since the encounter and the warrior who called himself Sorik Kelfast trudged southward over snow covered plains hunting and scavenging what he could, all while attempting to figure out who he was, but no one was to be found in the artic waste until one day he came on a small village. The village was called Skarvosia, or at least that’s what the villagers called it, the name didn’t really matter to Sorik, it was a place to rest. As he made his way to the largest building the villagers looked at him with a mixture of terror and awe for they have never seen one of his stature before. With a mighty heave Sorik Threw open the doors of the building scaring the people inside. As he walked in he said in a powerful voice “Who here do you call chief?”, to which a small timid man whimpered “i…i…im the mayor here, what c…c…c…can I do to help you?”. Sorik then knelt down on one knee so he was about eye level with the man and said “I have no idea who I am, though I know my name, all I ask is a place to rest for the time being, what say you mayor?” . Utterly relived that Sorik wasn’t there to burn their village to the ground the mayor and his associates agreed to let him stay as long as he needed. Sorik gladly appreciated the gesture and spent a couple of weeks there enjoying the company and food. Though he didn’t look it Sorik was quite a friendly person, playing games with the local kids, helping out wherever he could to help pay back for their hospitality and overall enjoying himself until one day when the local bandits struck. Sorik was out helping the woodsmen cut wood when they struck, and saw the destruction they had wreaked only when they returned to town. Upon seeing this Sorik was outraged and decided it was time for him to finally repay them for his hospitality. Sorik asked the mayor where the bandits hideout was, the mayor pleaded him not to go but being as stubborn as he was, Sorik insisted. After finally receiving the information he needed he bid the mayor and the town goodbye for after he had done his deed he was going to continue on his travels. Heading about three miles west of the town Sorik arrived at the bandit camp, slaying those within it without mercy down to a man. The bandits didn’t stand a chance, though they outnumbered Sorik, he had them in skill and with his blood running hot there was little chance of success for the bandits. Going over to the Last bandit and hefting him up by his neck so he was eye level with him Sorik looked him in the eye and told him to warn his friends never to come back, or he would come back with the fury of ten of his kind, after soiling himself the bandit agreed and ran off into the woods, and Sorik once again headed south to lands unknown to him.

Sorik Has traveled this way ever since traveling from small village to small village helping out as he says “weaker so called civilized folk” wherever he can and attempting to learn more about himself, though it is basically futile as little people have seen anyone like him the further south he goes, or if they have the information is vague or misleading, though sometimes with a stroke of luck he finds something that is worthwhile, sending him to different villages or large cities in the region, Though in honesty Sorik has almost given up on his quest as he enjoys adventuring and questing to much fulfilling his warrior sprit. Sorik is currently heading toward Marn, in hopes of finding new leads or something to occupy his time, be it slaying more bandits or something else to test his skill.

Hiya! Welcome to Thar and thanks for the app.

Firstly I would like you to choose a new account name, preferably something having to do with your character. We do not allow numbers in account names, as it detracts from the setting. When you've picked a name, pm it to Niabi or Frug and one of them will change it for you.

Secondly, I'm going to need you to go back through your app and add more. As it is now there are many randomly capitalized words and the history feels incomplete. The strengths and weaknesses are all rather two dimensional, and overall I don't have a good feel for who Sorik is, except that he's a stock northern warrior character who has amnesia. We don't know his intentions beyond that he wants to know more about himself, and instead of heading further north where he might learn more about himself, we see him heading south and do not know why.

If you have any questions or want to discuss your app in greater depth please either reply here or send myself or any of the moderators a pm. If you make any changes and want it to be looked at again please leave a reply here stating so.

Sorik,

At this time I feel that your writing is not quite there yet. I would recommend you check out http://www.roleplaygateway.com/ to look for a forum a bit more easygoing than we are. Good luck to you and I wish you the best. Always keep writing.
