Kuhl
Posted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 9:49 pm
Name: Kuhl
Age: Exists beyond time, but first seen nearly 5000 years ago
Race: Djinn
Height: Inconstant height, normally around 6'4'' to 6'8''
Weight: Takes on a weightless form, however can be whatever weight desired
Physical Description: Kuhl is a Djinn, making him one of the last Old Immortals still in existance. The Djinn were created to be the watchers of mankind, and dealt justice or punishment as they saw fit. He is a genderless creature (but is still adressed as He) and takes the form of what most would call a genie. It has no legs and instead has a tail of green smoke, which leads up to its smokey green form. It is made entirely of this gas, which is extremely thick and hot, nearly 100c (212F), causing water to evaporate when he touches it. However, this heat is contained within the smoke and does not emit outward. It has been described to have the face of a snake, and the body of a man, however can take many different forms.
Possessions: Kuhl has no worldly possessions to speak of, however when he takes his human form, he carries with in a special ring which allows him to conjure his Djinnic powers, however this does not restrict him from transforming back to a Djinn. The threat of this is that if the ring was taken from him, the holder would now have the powers of a Djinn, which are frighteningly strong.
Powers and Strengths:
Immortality: Djinn are immortal creatures from the Old World, created before time, making them resistant to its effects. Because it is made of smoke, it does not suffer from pathogens, however can be killed if attacked by a weapon of steel, silver, gold, mithril, or any other high-level weapon.
Connection to the Ancients: Like all other Djinn, Kuhl has a connection to the ancient beings, which grant him the ability to control all forms of matter. This includes water, fire, earth, gravity, wind, and even blood. However, Kuhl can only conjure these powers if the time is deemed right by the ancients, and if it is not he must rely on his earthly powers.
Weaknesses and Flaws:
The Chains of the Ancients: Like all Djinn, Kuhl is considered a near unstoppable being, which forced the ancients to create the mighty Chains of the Ancients, which restrict Kuhl's powers to a single holder. Whomever holds Kuhl's chain has complete power over him. Kuhl, however, may choose to not help the holder of these chains, but is not able to use his powers unless commanded to. He still maintains free will, but cannot tap into the strength of the Djinn without permission. Kuhl has the ability (as he has done before) to kill whoever holds his chain if he wishes, but is restricted to using only normal means of doing so (such as by stabbing the holder or choking them to death with his smoke).
History:
Kuhl is the Djinn of Storms, making him one of the most reverred Djinn among the others. He was formed in the Old World by the Ancient Gods. Because of this, he has devoted his existence to serving them and preforming their will. His great wisdom allows him to know the will of the ancients, which he must do all he can to fufill. The ancients, however, realized that his ultimate power could be exploited by those who carried his chains if he was to be tricked into allowing them to control him, so he was given free will, along with the other Djinns. This allows him to choose whether or not he wishes to follow his chain-bearer, but does not change the fact that his chains are held by someone.
The Djinn is a solitary creature and dislikes the company of large groups. They are often seen to be hermits and dwell within silent caves. For over 4000 years, Kuhl lived within a massive volcano, however during an eruption, was forced out of it. He travelled the land in solitude looking for a place to hide. During this journey his chains were taken by a Bandit Lord, who tried to use his powers for evil. Kuhl was able to kill this man during a heist and retake his chains. He absorbed the mans soul and was able to take his form. From this he fled into a small village where he hid for many years.
This is Kuhl's story so far. What is to come can only be seen by the Ancient Ones...
