He over thinks quite a lot and thus tends to look angry or studious (When in actuality he's a pretty calm guy for his intimidating appearance.)

Powers or Strengths: Alchemy (World Magic) - Alchemy is an art of charging doorways. Altering the very essence and core of things themselves it's an art that requires focus and dicipline. With it one can alter the very appearance and foundation of objects by combining and seperating items using metalic rings. Tomes are scattered about lands in dismal and dusty libraries, though the art is often too boring and long to bother studying over for the few rewards one can reap. For once an object is converted it will slowly begin to morph back into it's original state. This process can occur over hours, days, or even years depending on the skill of the user. The actual first transformation itself however can be finished in mere seconds. One should note the creation of Homonuculi is possible using Alchemy. Though that art is a bit more advanced and should be approached wearily for unlike inanimate objects, combined animate objects stay combined. -- Usage: Raine only uses Alchemy to create objects which he would never use for violence. Oftentimes these objects are toys for children or trinkets to amuse anyone who saw them. Homonuculi have never been created by Raine nor will they be unless he decides it's essential for his well being to survive.

Animation (World Magic) - Animation is the art of preparing a fake soul via natural accumulative energy and tasking it with orders. These orders can be as varied and simple as: Target (Object), Pick up targeted (Object), Put down targeted (Object). One the soul is complete and tasked it can then be moved into a host. One should understand that a soul put into a rock will only act as it is allowed. The rock will not speak, will not move, will not act, for it has no forgable limbs. Gadgeteering and other forms of creation are advised to pre-create bodies to act as hosts. Another note one should understand is that an animated being will not act beyond it's tasks. Once created and implimented into a host, an animated object will only respond to it's tasking orders and nothing else. -- Usage: Raine uses Animation for Golems. Golems by his definition are nothing more than servants to assist him in his creation of more Golems and trinkets. The young man's tinkering is more of a hobby than an actual art or profession.

(OOC Note: Metal Rings will be used for the concentration of aforementioned energy/alchemy and animation.)

Weaknesses: Prideful, tad egotistical, uncombative magic skills. Raine's also a bit naive of the world despite knowing of it's history. He's yet to experience any real tragedy other than the eviction from his family life. Raine is complacent with the people around him. He'd rather conform and obey society and it's laws than go against them. In this way he's easily manipulable if he believes what he's doing is for a just cause.

History: Raine for one loathes his ability to preform magic due to being surrounded by a culture that constantly preaches hatred for the art. Strangely compelled to use it despite his negative views, the man was a confused youth from the start of his life. His mother was the one who taught him of the arcane in the city of Marn. Hushed lessons in darkened basements so to speak due to the Puradyne standards. Tucked away from his father and other youths of his age, Raine missed out on quite a lot of what life was all about. It was only when he grew older was he allowed to begin studying of the world around him.
Raine was allowed frequent but surveyed visits to the University. He was unaware of the mocking tales others shared about him. The pale boy who slowly was gaining color in his skin from finally visiting the outside world. The obsessive scholar who was forced into a life of dismall retreat. When Raine reached the age of fifteen he was finally given an amount of unrestricted freedom. He took on the art of Gadgeteering in the hopes of inspiring those around him the same way his studies had inspired him. The young man created small toys and people which he sold to children and the rich for a reasonable sum. His work was unique and well worth the pay rates. The trinkets never broke down and took ages to rust and degrade. Even when they finally did a simple trip to the boy's workshop was all it took. He happily would fix up the item and return it free of charge. It was only a matter of years before Raine was suddenly cast out and cut away from his parents when they discovered he was selling magical items.
Shocked, confused, and hurt by his upbringing the man purchased a small apartment and continued his works there. It was this way that he learned how abhored his talents as a magic user were. He was spotted by several guards who witnessed him forging a new Golem with alchemy. They forced him to register with the Justice Hall and Raine agreed to set aside his talents and stick to Gadgeteering for the time being. When the young man finally realized he'd been given a chance at total freedom he was rather elated. His home became more of a workshop than a home. Consisting of a small two room apartment, his bedroom even had a desk in which he worked on more private and smaller machinations. His creations were an obsession. He didn't need animation or alchemy to make them work, they just helped with the process. He could still create wind-up automatons. His real dream however was to be able to create the perfect Golem. Something so perfect it would act just like a human would. Unfortunately his powers were restricted by the Justice Hall, thus he'd stick to simply making hollow shells for now. For now.

Hello and Welcome to Thar. I want to thank you for submitting a character, now I must ask a few questions in order to approve this.

What exactly can he do with his alchemy and animation skills? From how it reads, it looks like you put some sort of definition of each in the strengths section instead of mentioning what he can or does with it. Then, in the history there is a talk of him making toys which I assume involve these powers (unless I'm mistaken). So I want to know, does he only use these powers to make toys or does he do anything else?

Why does Raine hate his magical ability? Is it because his mother kept him locked in a basement to study it? You didn't mention it but I'm guessing they lived in Marn and that is why this training was done in hiding. Is his hatred in anyway related to the Puradyne (anti-magic religion) views that are so ingrained into the city and its people? Has Raine ever thought about registering his ability with Justice Hall?

Why was he kicked out of his family home?

I'd like to see some more information added to the following sections to help flesh out the character, Physical Description, Weaknesses and History. For the physical description just give us some more detail, the more detail you have the easier it will be for others to write with you. For weaknesses, don't really think about it as 'making your character weaker' think about it more as ways to get your character into future plots and put them in situations where they won't be at the top of their game and they will have to try harder to get what they want. Having something to block their path to what would otherwise be an easy goal (like a fear) gives them something to tackle and fight against until they are finally strong enough to overcome this obstacle and then they can learn and grow from it. As for the history, I want to know more about him so that we can get a better idea of his personality and what sort of goals he might have.

If you need any help or have any questions please feel free to send me a PM or hit me up in chat, I'm in there most days. Now when you do make edits, please leave a reply here so I know to read over it again.

I tried editing it as I could see fit without disrupting the balance of the actual character himself. I appreciate the critique! Still a budding writer.

Anything else you'd like to point out or do you think it's good?
