Name: Lex
Race: Human
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Profession: Blacksmith/Mercenary hunter
Physical Characteristics and Appearance:
At the first glance, Lex is an average 6'10" human, weighting around 190lbs, which highly depends on his luck to get his stomach full. Still in the first glance, you may notice Lex's emerald eyes, short blonde hair and hard-lived life. His arms, face and chest are covered with minor scars made by hard work. He always appears well shaved, mostly because his facial hair doesn't grow much. Broad shoulders, strong arms and innate strength makes him just another common citizen of Shim, but his skills with axes, swords and bow make him a bit more than that.
Usually Lex can be seen in his worn common clothes, which consists of brown cotton shirt, leather trousers and leather boots. When hunting, he wears his hard leather jacket, short sword and longbow, and in colder nights or just to keep him disguised when hunting, his dark green robe with hood.
Possessions:
Major
Small Cottage - A home, around one mile away from the Shim. Inside cottage are a bed, clothes drawer (containing leather gloves, wool cap, various shirts and pants...), table with two chairs, chest containing various important items with no actual value (like his diary, journal, hidden sack with a few coins, etc...), oven, and some minor items, like jars, spoons, forks, and so on... Outside cottage is a small forge with anvil, which stood in that house for generations, since his grandfather was a blacksmith, tools shack (with farming tools which Lex sells, lumber axes, and gear for making tools, like hammers, clippers...) and an apple tree. His cottage is surrounded by not well made wooden fence.
Weapons: Two short swords and a longbow (quiver consists 10 arrows).
Minor
Medical Notebook, regarding commonly found plants and their medical use, their pictures and healing/spice properties.
Blacksmith's Notebook, regarding ore smelting process, metal and other materials for forging, and pictures of completed tools with descriptions how to make ones, heritage of his grandfather.
Silver amulet, carved in shape of lotus flower, heritage and memory of his mother, worth 6 Bishani.
Purse with 13 Bishani.
Strengths and Virtues:
...A cold and rainy night has fallen over Shim... You, dear reader, dear traveler, just entered the village as the howl of the thunder and the flash of the night became unbearable. The only well-lit location was an old, wooden building, with a post "Red Chalice" above the doors. It is a tavern, but it is unusual for one to be so quiet. You entered into the interior of the warm sanctuary, and in the moment you understood. There was a bard, and locals inside bought their drinks, sat down, and silently observed... You, dear reader, dear traveler, did the same, and the bard was just about to finish his introduction, and just about to start his sad, sad story...
You, dear reader, dear traveler, thought this is going to be a long story, and went to get yourself an ale. The noise you made while standing up and walking to the bartender drew much attention to yourself, and much unnecessary angry looks. Once you sat down and apologized to men sitting around you, you once again devoted your attention to the bard, now getting to some interesting parts...
"...so it was a time a hunter was needed. A traveling baron now explained to the hamlet that whoever brings him the evidence of the wolves, will pay him good deal of goods, money and wealth, for it is unbearable for a father to lose a daughter. Bastion stepped in front, with a sword in his sheath and a shield on his back, a true knight of the old days, as he looked back then... He said, and we all bards know these lines, he said "I shall be the one to bring justice upon thee who stole the life from your child. I shall be the one to avenge her in your name!"
...pfff... Who knows how many times, you dear reader, dear traveler, heard those lines from the bards... But, this story was nice, and it was easy going, so you decided to stay around, and not retreat to your room for a sleep just yet...
"...t'was a night, bright and shiny moon shone upon the beautiful landscape, and Bastion was now in front of the woods that those vile werewolves called their home. He made an oath, more to himself than to the baron, to slay foul beasts, and leave the Braz'zer once and for all. Oh, and magnificent was thee. Bastion returned to the hamlet with six wolf heads, dragging them behind, with wolves' faces cought in horror and pain. Baron was delighted, and done his share of deal. Bastion left for the west, in search of a more civilized place, and to find a home in such. The first town on his long way that seemed safe and civilized was Marn, and the village of Shim, near the big city, was a proper place for him."
"With money that he got from Baron, he bought himself a house, about half the mile away from the village's hearth, married himself with a beautiful girl whose name was Mary, and he was happy."
"Several years later, they had a child of their own. They were happy, oh, the joy that a child brings to the human hearth is as warm as the sun that gives us all the life! That child's name was... Alex. Once in a week, Mary's father took his grandson under his own, for it was a joy of his life, and the child loved to play with his grandfather. In this one week, however... Alex's story begun, while he was still a young boy at the age of six, and it was........."
Well, dear traveler, you knew that bards know to make a story good... and long... But be patient now, for the story is starting to take it's second half...
"...and the mist rose in the fields. Howl of the night wolves was loud, terrifying... Bastion knew what is going on, and he knew that shapeshifter's blood vendeta is about to take it's toll... He put upon himself a great curse that he hoped would be forgiven, but Fate is a coward and a fool... Bastion wore on himself his shiny armor, with Phoenix across his chest, his longsword, and his shield, and with tears in Mary's eyes, he look through the window... The red eyes, about 50 feet away from the house, about 50 pair of them was staring in their direction... Wolves are here, angry for their loss, demanding retribution! Bastion said the last farewell, and bold, fearless, brave and ready, walked outside to meet them... In that same night... People of Shim that couldn't sleep clearly saw the smoke and flames from the place where once was Bastion's, Mary's and Alex's home... When they got there, armed with whatever sort of weapon they could find... They found nothing but ruins..."
"But this story that I am to tell you would not be worth telling if you didn't know all this... I am sure that most of you know it, but I see new faces here... And now, I am about to present to you a story about a boy named Lex..."
"When his parents were on the missing... for their bodies were never found, thus never declaring passed away... His uncle, his mother's own flash and brother, adopted him. His uncle's name I won't say, for it is said with great anger and pain to everyone around here... Once he took Alex under his own, he inherited everything that was once Mary's, and it was a house Marn, and a small estate here in Shim... The uncle, whose name I won't speak here, sold Alex's properties in the same year when a young boy was left without his parents, took all the money he could get, all the riches and treasure that his sister and her husband had, and left these lands, never to return. His cruel deeds were approved by the government of Marn, since it was now his, that is, Lex's property, but he was his lawful representative, and it was all legal..."
"Now, without anything, and without anyone to take care of Lex, his grandfather, an old blacksmith, took this misfortunate child under his own... Lex was only seven then. Growing up, side by side with a mighty blacksmith, but weary and old and weak now, was a hard life. Back then, Alex had to take care of his grandfather, chop the woods, and cook, for there were days when his old grandfather was not able to stand up from his bed. In the days when grandfather Elrond was able to stand and walk, he used to teach this boy, he used to pass his knowledge, for he was not so good-standing, and he could not afford to pay him the school education. There were days when those two would go into the forest, and then, Elrond would explain to his youngling the meaning of different plants, the meaning of bird's songs, and the meaning of the sounds in the forest. In other days, he would teach him how to hold a blacksmith hammer, and to use anvil to bend the steel to his will... He was preparing the boy. Two years later... In one stormy night... Just like this one... Elrond lied to his bed.... Never to wake up again. Alex was now on his own... and he was nine years old."
...Dear traveler... You hope you understand now why this bard's tale is long and quiet and is spoken right now, when outside winds howl and storm is rising... It is a sad story, and everyone in the Red Chalice now have long faces and sad expressions... But, the story is still not over yet...
"The boy grew up to be the honest young fellow. He was back then only ten years old, when he saved our Nicol from the wild boar's attack..." - as the bard said that, he pointed in the direction of one middle-aged woman, which was nodding hear head. "In the age of twelve, he managed repair his grandfather's, now his own house... we all know that it was not well kept, and the roof fell over, but the boy was able to restore it without help of any of you... Not that ya'll didn't offer yourself, the boy was always on his own, and he always does everything alone! Ohh, if only his father and grandfather saw him now, he would be the pride of everyone!"
"...Now... I would not say everything that happened... For the night is not long enough, and you people must be tired now... so, I would end my tale here. Lex, even now, is part of the bard's tales, and the rest about him you may hear when another stormy night approaches, and now... I bid you all good fortunes... And good night..."
...with those words, the Bard slowly gave his bows... but no applause were received... this was not a story on which people would cheer and clap... You, dear reader, dear traveler, shook your head like you glanced back into the reality, finished your drink, and retreated to your quarters to call this a day... What a sad story this was...
OOC:
I feel kinda tired for writing this much right now... I will probably write the second bard's presentation in a few days, or maybe even later... May I start gaming now?

Strengths and Virtues:
- Physical strength - Since his early childhood, Lex was forced on hard life. Being a grandson of a blacksmith gave him certain virtues, other then his strength.
- Common sense of honor - Lex would never harm another human being. He would never ask others for help and he would solve his problems on his own. If there is someone that needs help, Lex would be the first to provide aid, which other people mostly used for their own benefits.
- Modesty - Lex doesn't need much. Since he grow up almost on his own, his parents died in his early age, and his grandfather was old and quite poor, Lex is used on living in modesty.
- Hunting - Skillful with bow, Lex is capable hunter, able to hunt down deers, wild boars and rabbits in the local forest, and still (sometimes) escape dangers that lurk inside.
- Cooking - Lex is quite an adept cook. He highly leans on his hunting skills to provide himself meat, and his medical notebook to get himself various spices, to make his meals even better.
- Blacksmithing - With a guide of his notebook, Lex knows how to make common work tools for peasants, some common weapons, like axes, swords, and hilts for those, and for more complex items, he highly leans on the knowledge written by his grandfather's large experience.
- Farming - Lex knows how to grow some vegetable, like tomato, carrot, potato, and the common stuff in his garden outside his cottage, thou he rarely bothers, usually he just goes to Shim's village market and buys himself those.
- Healthy - It appears that solitude in the Shaddin made Lex rather durable to common illness. When he was a boy, he had flues, pox, and so on, but when he grew up a bit, he seems to have hardened himself a bit.
- No common education - Lex, being far away from the school, lacks the common knowledge of history (apart local tales), mathematics (except things he needs for smithing), geography, and other magic/science/common knowledge that you would learn in the school.
- Lack of personal hygiene - Lex's hands are almost always dirty and muddy, his face is rarely clean during the day. Beside his handwash before meals and washing his face when he wakes up, there is no more paying attention to himself. His clothes usually remain unwashed for ten to fourteen days. He wases his hair once every week, and when the cold weather comes, he just doesn't do that. Dirt under nail, dirty teeth, but surprisingly healthy are just an add to the list.
- Hasty actions - Besides hunting, where he has learned patience, he is much to hasty. He likes to get his business done fast, doesn't like to wait, which makes him bad tempered, thus leading him into trouble more then a few times.

"Before I begin... I need to take you back through time, into the long forgotten past of one brave soul named Bastion. He was a true hero, the one of which people rarely talk about, for he was a mercenary. He lived in a small place that does not exist on maps, for rarely any traveler ever needed directions to go there. It was a small hamlet along the Northern Trade Route, whose name is now forgotten, east of Thar Shaddin. Only bards now remember it, and it was named Braz'zer.""...And as long as bard's tales are still sung,
This is an old story of one that is still young,
It's a story about one of your own,
The one that welcomes in Shim his every dawn..."
