Zashira

Player Name: Amanda

Name: Zashira
Age: 300
Race: Demon

Physical Description:

As one of the many creatures that claw away at the seal that separates Marn from the astral plain, Zashira holds no one appearance, but rather manifests herself into an image that the caster first pictures. This could be anything from a cute, fuzzy kitten to an old hag. Were you to see her on the astral plain, however, you would only see a thick black cloud.

Possessions:

Zashira packs nothing, everything that she needs is in her head. Should she need to show someone something, she draws it out in black smoke or with a handy pencil that she may or may not have stolen from your pocket.

Powers or Strengths:

Shadow Magics: As a shadow-dweller of the astral plain Zashira is well-versed in shadow magics. Though she barely uses it herself, she teaches it to others in order to further her own needs or wants. Spells like this include:

- Shadow Blade: Though it causes the wielder pain to use, they may summon and wield a blade of shadow. Though it may only be as strong as the wielder’s will. An example would be that a weak-willed person would not be able to cut even meat where as a more stronger-willed person could cut through a tree.
- Shadow Heal: A dark art that tortures the soul to nourish the body and return it to health
- Shadow Hide: A handy little spell that hides the caster from the view of others by allowing the caster to step through ‘the veil’. This spell is dangerous, however, for if it is upheld for too long, the caster’s soul is lost and the body becomes ash. A safe time period would be about 10 minutes absolute tops.
- Shadows of the Pit: A globe of magical darkness filled with the spirits of the hateful dead. Normal light does absolutely nothing to illuminate it, though magical ability to see through darkness works. People enveloped by it are subjected to the feeble attacks of the damned. Weak though they may be, they serve to distract, disorient, and, through sheer numbers, batter those trapped within. The caster is not subject to the attacks, though the darkness still blinds them. Most breeds of demons are immune to both effects.
- Shadow Panties: No one knows the true effect of this spell. All they know is that when they cast it, a random woman collapses from sheer… something. Still not quite sure what.
Fire Magics: Mostly just the ability to create and manipulate fire, Zashira prefers this form of magic as compared to the shadow magics due to the lack of dangers. She is able to throw, control and create fires. This is particularly handy for smiting chickens or other feathered beings.

Contract: Zashira, once summoned, will bargain with you. Should she agree to the deal, she seals the contract written up (usually in an intimate way… hehe…) and thus binds the summoner to her. There is always a clause which says that if Zashira does not hold up her end of the bargain, the contract is nullified and she loses her end of the deal – usually the person’s heart or first born child or maybe the first born’s pet kitten or puppy.

Demon Eyes: Zashira’s eyes are like a cats in the sense she can see in the dark, and see other beings that others can’t. This is limited to beings of the astral plain. Should a spirit be stuck in the physical realm, she can’t see or speak to them. This ability sucks, however, as the other demons tend to be rather cruel to her and give her nasty looks…

Weaknesses and Flaws:

Salt: Zashira cannot touch, cross, or eat salt. It causes her extreme agony as it is one of the stronger elements that represents the power of the physical plane – earth. Also Zashira cannot touch the earth as it causes her pain, as it is not of her plain.

Astral Temper: As a darker being of the astral plain, Zashira has little patience for mortals and their antics. As such she tends to loose her patience with those she’s bound in a contract to and will often snap at them. This increases the odds of them leaving her.

Black Heart: Zashira, if she has a heart, has a very black, very shriveled one. She cares not for pitiful mortals who suffer, scream, or cry for mercy. She kicks puppies in her way and drowns kittens if they mew too loudly.

Age: Zashira is 300 years old – which is old for her… but in all truth, she’s actually a very young demon. She just doesn’t accept or acknowledge this. Instead she acts as though she’s at least 1000 years old and knows everything… this has lead her to more than one bad mistake – one of which included (and not limited to) the death of a kitten, a dog howling in agony and an explosion of feathers… it was a terrible day indeed.

Feathers: Don’t ask me why, but Zashira’s petrified of feathers. Any animal that is covered with feathers, should it come near her, will be smote with flame. Hold a feather near her, however, and she is known to shriek curses and vanish, though not before attempting to throw fire at you and the feather.

History:

The day of her creation… such a day was widely celebrated and feared by all. Or at least, so Zashira thought. No, Zashira’s ‘birth’ as one may call it, was uneventful. It was just the usual random poof of existence that happens every time some bad person dies… or kicks a random chicken for no good reason. But no, for Zashira, it was the day of reckoning that was the day that the destroyer of the physical realm was born!

Mind you this plan would only work if she could just break through that stupid seal that the stupid changer dude laid down. But, naturally, she couldn’t, she had to be summoned by a stupid mortal… did she mention she hated mortals? Them with their pathetic whining… hey wait – someone summoned her! So began her very brief partnership with a man by the name of Lorne.

Now Lorne was like the average human summoner whose choice summons were ‘demons’(as he called them); tall dark and handsom. Zashira really couldn’t care less! She was free! Free to – what? Obey? As if! Like she’d teach some measly weakling mortal her spells! She could just cast them herself! Such was her power! Her awesome – feathers! Her weakness! Curse these damn humans and their feathers…and salt… stupid humans… looks like she’s back to having to work with the humans… at a price perhaps.

Turns out Zashira could touch things from the physical realm – just not salt or earth. But she can rip apart stupid humans! Which meant that she could take away their hearts! Haha! Why the hearts? Well Zashira read somewhere that the heart was the most precious of the human’s possessions and that it was very valuable. Little does she know, all it is is a small muscle that’s essential to life.

To cut a long and tedious story short – Zashira taught Lorne pretty well all she knew, then killed him, her contract now fulfilled. Happily taking her prize back to the astral plain (she’d forgotten about the seal) she showed all her ‘demon’ friends the heart she’d carved from the man’s chest. That’d be the point when they pointed out her mistake. Enraged at her own stupidity Zashira shredded the heart to little pieces and threw them to the shadow things that float about in the astral plain. And waited.

Sure enough, 100 years later, Zashira was summoned once more. This time it was a stupid female human. Long story short, the woman wanted the power to lure in a mate. Zashira complied – but the price was the woman’s first born. That day came sooner than either expected. After teaching the female all the ‘tricks of the trade’ as Zashira came to call her spells, she wandered the physical realm for awhile. About a year later she returned and found the woman with three children and another in the womb. Confused because there were three there that were of the same age, Zashira decided to take a third of each child. She took the head of one, the torso of another and the ass-half of the last one. Once more delighted at her good fortune she went back to the astral plain (one would think that she’d learn the first time) and showed her friends her prize(s). Once more they pointed out her mistake and once more she threw a temper-tantrum. So she waited once more. Another 100 years pass, and she’s still not summoned… 99 years after that, she’s summoned once more… this time by a man by the name of Edgar.

Edgar demanded the usual: “Teach me the shadow arts!” And Zashira rolled her eyes and agreed – though this time she asked for an unusual price – obedience.

“Very well, mortal, I will teach you all I know… in exchange, you will obey my every command… is that clear?” “Yes…” “Do we have a deal, mortal?” “… yes.” And so begins the rein of Zashira, destroyer of the human race.

No no, that was a comment on her appearance. I'll let meesha or kat look her over.

Whee, as with zombie, kudos for you to rework a character. I know it's not always much fun to do so, and I appreciate your willingness to do it.

I've got one tiny question about salt -- does this include minute amounts in food? Is it all salts or just sodium chloride?

Otherwise I think this app is pretty good as is, though I'm gonna have Meesh or Ming look it over to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I'm still unsure as to this ability of her to draw things she needs. I asked you before if these things she draws are merely illusion or does she have an ability to actually create solid, usable items from drawing them. Either way this needs to be listed in powers and not just possessions.

And what is the purpose of this pantie spell, what does it do?
