Rutenchioth

Rutenchioth
I tried to make a serious vampire character and I kinda succeeded. I would like this character to be open to a few other admin approved players should they ever be interested in playing ol' Rutie. I promise he's fun, once you get around how disgusting he is.
Age: Old Ass Motherfucker
Race: Vampire. =^_^=
Physical Description:
Rutenchioth used to be a rather rotund, greying gentleman of imposing height and girth. However, rapid weight loss has caused his skin to fall in flabby folds over his midsection, arms, legs, jowls. . .pretty much everywhere fat is capable of forming. A blundered effort to surgically remove these flabs has resulted in some horrendously fantastic scarring along his jawline and in slipshod, curling, twisted flesh from the neck down. In perverse fashion, Rutenchioth is rather proud of his scars and the effect they have on his prey, so he systematically embellishes these scars. Due to his own talent for self healing, he has taken it upon himself to embed metals, bone, and precious gems into his skin so as to create a grotesque living sculpture of a design only he can truly appreciate.
On a more mundane level, Rutenchioth used to be a rather forgettable gentleman with the exception of his six foot, three inch frame. His face was plain with a hint of pleasantness. His hair was a standard, unremarkable brown with a bit of iron grey at the temples, and his eyes were a rather typical hazel. He had great, bushy eyebrows and a few warty skin blemishes around his nose and near his ears. Speaking of his ears, they stick out to the side a bit, giving him what would have been a slightly comical appearance. With his scars, though, it only attributes to his freakish appearance.
Without the aid of high-necked, body covering clothes and a pound or two of makeup, Rutenchioth would be unable to enter any public setting without causing a major stir.
Personality:
Without a doubt, Rutenchioth is the type of person who enjoys scaring little boys and girls. He is vile. He is obsessed with causing repulsion and fear in other people. His pastimes include destroying innocence and practicing masochistic and sadistic tendencies on his prey. He enjoys it when his prey hurt him in return, and he keeps any such scars in fond recollection of each horror he commits.
He only respects himself, and offers a vague sort of camaraderie to fellow vampires. Though he is a bit of a loner, his fellow vampires tendency towards the same attracts him to them like a moth to flame. He is easily bored of his mere mortal playmates, and so has a tendency of wandering out of his own territory to seek a less destructible playmate. He will attach himself to such an 'immortal' person, and spend most of his time trying to worm his way into good graces, whilst getting rejected in utterly splendid ways. Which he likes. A lot.
Other things he likes include bright colors, cute kids, ugly animals, textures, fingers. He actually has a preserved finger collection that he likes sharing with others, especially right before he cuts off his viewer's best or worst looking finger to keep. If you ask him, he would be more than happy to drag out his hope chest, which contains all of his bestest items and most beloved possessions. He has attached a spell to this trunk so that the space inside is connected to a different plane. In effect, it is limitless. If you are granted the privilege of seeing the contents of this trunk, you might be seeing objects from a day to a week, depending on how much he likes you alive.
He considers himself a master fetishist, and claims there isn't anything he'd be unwilling to try at least once -- unless you're trying to get him to kill himself, in which case he'll wag his finger and do things to you. Things you probably really won't enjoy. Well, unless you're like him, in which case he'll accidentally kill you sooner or later. But don't worry, he'll personally stuff and mount you and add you to his collection for fond remembrances. And of the definition of 'mount' . . .well, he's not telling. Teehee, stuff.
*cough* Moving along, he also likes to present himself as a wise scholar, which he occasionally can back up. He is particularly interested in astral magics, and has learned to do fun things like mix and match body parts from two spatially different creatures, or summon a vacuum around a live creature to watch it explode. But these things he saves for dinner parties and formal events, which he feels he should be invited to. Immediately. He also likes to sculpt living flesh to look like his own, though he confesses no other has the fortitude to attain his otherworldly beauty.
Which is true, since most of his sculptures tend to die. But he appreciates death for the valiant cause of art, and will also stuff and mount these creations to be er, viewed at a later time.
He likes viewing things. Frequently.
He also has a fascination with puppets. I'll leave it up to you to imagine all the wonderful things he has done in the name of puppetry.
Powers/Strengths:
-Heals quickish, faster or slower depending on how much blood he's had recently. Since he's usually half starved, it's of the stop-self-from-losing-too-much-blood variety.
-Can be a charming conversationalist.
-Masochist: Hurting him only makes him stronger! No, really. I wouldn't if I were you.
-Hypnosis: Capable of drawing in certain unaware people so he might suck their blood like dracula on steroids. He doesn't use this too often, however, due to the fact that he prefers them being able to fight back. And cry. He likes the crying.
-Survives via blood. Now there's a plentiful food source if there ever was one. . .one small problem listed below.
-Astral wizard: He can fold the fabric of space together and teleport, summon a vacuum, pierce through to other planes, summon other races from said planes, and sometimes draw forth bits and pieces of different substances and materials for use during his experiments.
-Amateur surgeon. Or beginner surgeon. WTFever. He cuts on people and is then summarily dejected when they die of blood loss before he can finish making them look kinda like himself. Sorry shifters, the fat lot of you usually wind up surviving. . .mostly.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
-Vain: Sometimes he concentrates so hard on himself (so hard) that he forgets to keep track of his prey, or enemies. Standard soliloquies, you know the drill.
-Insecure: Deep down, he's more afraid of being liked and then rejected. But, since he's a masochist, he also enjoys this. Poor man, he's so torn.
-Delusional: His view of beauty is a bit skewed. A lot skewed. He thinks he knows what others think they think they want, but he definitely knows better. There's a society out there dedicated to killing him because of this.
-Allergic to type O+ and A+ blood. Unfortunately, the only way he can tell if someone is these types is if he drinks the blood. Even he doesn't know that he's allergic to types A+ and O+ blood. He only knows that sometimes when he drinks blood his skin starts sloughing off, and he vomits blood. He tends to diet a little excessively because of this, hence the folds of extra, scarred skin. WTF is vampire fat made of, anyways? (I vote for rainbows and sparkles)
History
He was born like any other mortal man. He was raised as an aristocrat, and for a brief twenty years he reigned over his territory with an iron fist. But that was long ago, before he was bitten, and before that history burned to ash and myth. Whatever remains of that time is locked within Rutenchioth's sordid brain, and he'd much prefer to play with your fingernails than discuss something as boring and ancient as that.
But since he's become a vampire he's built himself a more prominent mythic empire from which to lurk behind. Hailing from somewhere around Athena, Eyropa, he's acquired a rather large territory from which to operate a reign of terror. He's not stupid, though, and keeps it to traveler's children and idiots who don't follow roads when they should. He keeps a few pet wizards and servants to help keep his presence subtle, and mourns the rapidity with which he has to replace them.
He gets bored easily, and so his history can be traced from one jaunt to another, between vampiric territories, leaving a trail of mayhem behind. His vampiric brethren tend to view him with a anticipatory dread filled mostly with resentment and irritation. He is nearly impossible to harm in a way that he won't view as foreplay, and his soppy missives are an embarrassment at the least. Yet he is also typically too much of a hassle to kill, and so most of his vampire kin will endure him until he gets bored and moves on.
Currently he travels to the Marn area, haven't seen his darling Belatucadrus in a dragon's age, and has determined that this should be remedied immediately. He brings with him one or two wizards (mortals being so hard to keep track of) and one or two servants. He has decided to camp out in the woods for the time being as he builds his strength before what promises to be a dashing reunion (which most people would call suicidal stupidity on Rutie's part, and murderous intent on Bela's part).
Damn, it's so good to be a vampire.

Dearest brethren,
I write to you out of necessity, and out of a discovery of unparalelled horror: the recent streak of kills within Greece's holy borders have been confirmed as the work of a vampire. I will be assembling a team to contend with this new threat. After having discussed the severity of the problem with Archlord Dratheos, we have decided to place Baron Di Rosare at the helm of this task. Those chosen will be included in the next missive.

Note: Even tho I've hard-pressed proj.s w/ dl been assn'd to Dvn. Unliving. To record findings for arch. purps.
I am to be recorded as being under protest.
Subject: Rutenchioth
Status: Unliving, at large
Origin: Thought to be within or around Greece.
Current location: Greece
Appearance: Tall man, round. Disturbing markings over skin. Brown hair, eyes.
This is an aggravating case. Despite the overwhelming number of runners set to collect information, the findings are shallow and underwhelming. It is a fruitless exercise to compile this data, despite the number of years these runners have had to find information.
R seems to have base on the islands. Local rumor is that a large monster lives on the islands. These myths have been recorded since Changer's War. Information unreliable. Rumor of local lordling disappearing and turning up as a living corpse from one thousand years prior. The great scholar Gregari has long held the approved popular position that such myths are based in fantasy. Greece is given to romantic stories, with its history, but the people in Greece have not had lords since previous to Changer's War.
Most likely R was from a relatively rich family, perhaps merchants. Probably not Greek in origin. Greece is perfect for vampires given its current state. It is by the changer's will only none had settled in previously. Though, with such sad facilities of Society's such as this, likely it was simply unrecorded. R probably used to evading hunters. Likely has mortal allies/slaves. An intelligent operative should check coastal tribes. It is unsurprising the majority of information comes from northern/central tribes.
Diviners based at Temple Athena have been able to trace some of the spots where he took prey. Most useful information will come out of the Tasks Three, some of whom have also been pulled into Seekers One unwillingly with projects at stake. Keeper Techeski has been particularly intelligent help, moreso than any I've had contact with since the transfer. Together we deduced R has been in Greece for at least a century, likely longer.
Due to the dearth of useful information I will be conducting my own investigations, since my project has already been put on indeterminate hold. The faster this is done, the more beneficial to everyone.

Subject: Rutenchioth
Purpose: Biography
The aftermath of the Changer's War was difficult to keep track of. Even with the establishment of a new Emperorer and the Provinces with all the local governments, much occurred that was not easily taken control of. One of the practices at the time was for those families with bodies and weapons to spare to take control of fertile tracts of land and start their own fief, attracting the less fortunate refugees a place of security to settle.
Though many of these were uprooted over the years, many either grew powerful enough or old enough to resist the lawful dismantling of the legal powers of the area. It is noteworthy that there were a few such fiefs settled around Greece's borders, drawn by the upheavals of the area that had churned the land relatively flat and fertile.
There were five noteworthy fiefs huddled along Greece's northernmost border, two of which survive to today. Of the other three, only one has a name attached that was not destroyed by time. It had grown large enough to earn itself a regional name of Bonadera, and was claimed by the Province of Apthoni. It had the barest hint of records indicating natural disaster had destroyed the family and its vassals, and the village and surrounding lands had been left to be reclaimed by the land. Runner Sangyei submitted a report (GR:ATN:RGN:PW2400-2300:28) regarding this land, and as it was determined the destruction had been wrought by giants it became irrelevent to this report.
The two without names were inspected thoroughly by a team put together by Keeper Techeski and headed by Runner Sangyei. The lands of one seemed to have suffered by a local infestation of water fey who had diverted the underground water supply. The other seemed to have been abandoned by choice, and was surrounded by rumors and taboo. There wasn't anything specific, but locals from the nearest surviving fief all but refused to go to the place. I seconded two from Seekers Three to assist with the inspection.
There were enough surviving mortal remnants for astral recollections to be staged, and it was determined that a son of the head family was the vampire. The astral recollections took a total of six years to complete, and an additional year was necessary to verify the information collected was historically accurate.
The son in question took over the fief for a number of years (anywhere from five to fifty). Though they were unable to collect any samples showing the actual vampire attack on the son, there were many fragments of the attacks that were perpetrated on the fief itself by the son. Glimpses of written documents showed the family name to be Polsciano, and the son to be named Gioccore.
The Polsciano clan was Apthoni in origin, the name itself having several mentions in the old lays and songs. They were originally an old clan, rich in magic and fiercely warlike. Their clan joined with Theogios during the Changer's War, and the ravages of the war left them scattered and broken. It is sensible a scion of Polsciano would flee eastward to start anew.
The Polsciano man or woman who fled eastward would have been ruthless and fierce. Remains show an old stone fort or manor had been erected at one point, and it is likely the family would have remained militaristic and strict. Glimpses of life for the Polsciano heirs showed rigid structure and a tendency towards cruelty. Images of the son combined with more recent descriptions of sightings of Rutenchioth have proven that Gioccore and Rutenchioth are one and the same.
