Is four too many?

I was worried about cluttering up the forum, but a glimpse has reminded me that we have threads about theme tunes and spaces in ellipses, so...
Should I create another character?
On the one hand, I'm a (theoretically) busy university student and things haven't even picked up for Alina yet. (On that note, anybody seen Fayane about?) On the other hand, roleplay is a lot more fun than learning about the regulatory effects of methylation on DNA.
In the momentous decision of whether my mighty burden of characters can be increased by one, I have decided to leave it up to public vote.
The system is simple: the weighting is listed beside each option. Positive result: new character. Negative result: no new character. Neutral result: tearful afternoon with tea and chocolate as I ponder your indifference to my plight. Poll runs for 14 days.
Also open to suggestions for a potential fourth character, as it might as well be something useful or that people want to rp with.

It wouldn't let me vote

It said the submitted form was invalid. But... my vote was to go for it if you can handle it and keep your other chars active, don't if you can't, so not much help there.

Derin, you're awesome. You make great characters. You're active, you post often and you're someone I feel wouldn't overextend yourself. If you're thinking about making another, chances are you want to. If you want to, do so. You've got a great track record.
Also, just because you have them doesn't necessarily mean you have to use them. If, say, you decide you don't like Alina so much then don't play her. :3 I actually have a character I ditched in the storage bin because she didn't work out.
Think of it this way: there might come a day when you will need to have a post for every one of your characters, and it's already been awhile since you posted. Maybe you've been busy. Maybe you didn't feel like it. Could you force yourself to crank all of them out while you have some free time? As long as the answer is 'yes,' then go for it. If the answer is 'no,' then it's time to reconsider.
If the answer is 'I don't know,' then think about how you've been handling your threads so far, and ask your self again.
Hope that helped.
Also, it won't let me vote either.

Stupid program *grumble grumble*... any ideas on how to fix the poll? Do we have a tech support area here or anything?
I think Alina will be fine once she gets off the ground. The trouble will be preventing her from going crazy; with her not-too-strong mind and set of powers, just touching stuff could easily turn into something like cocaine addiction for her.

I have to agree with the others. If you want to make a new character and you think you can keep up with it and your other ones, than yes, go for it. From what I have seen of your characters and threads so far I feel that you could keep up with one more as long as it doesn't cut into your studies. We don't want your study time to suffer in trying to keep up with posting.
However, if you don't think you can keep up with the characters or with school or with anything else in your life that is important to you, than maybe you should wait off on it. It's really up to you to determine how much time you have and what you can balance without stretching your time too thin and then being overwhelmed with just trying to keep up with everything.

I just watched a video presentation on a gene analyser that sounded like a shampoo commercial. Apparently Illumina thinks that telling me that I can have full coverage with the power of chemistry gives me adequate information about their product. My genomics exam is in two days.
I may be completely obsessed with science, but trying to keep Derin and Dirk alive is rather more interesting that keeping product and gene names straight in my head.

You should include your science in there somehow. Because, dammit, it sounds like there's potential for cool.

That... was hilarious. For some reason.
Allow me to take this opportunity to shoehorn in a completely unrelated reference to really really awesome science music.

I don't think there's a certain number of characters that works for everyone.
Four would be too much for me, but for you? I really have no idea.
In considering what to do, I think you need to focus on what it would be like at your busiest and most stressful times, not just slow times. Can you regularly keep up with four? (You don't have to answer these to me, just to yourself.) Will it still be fun, or will it come to seem like a burden? Do you really have enough free time to juggle them if all the storylines pick up?
Your poll still isn't working, but I would vote neutrally. Not because I don't care, but because I don't think there's any one answer to this, and it really depends on your time and interest.

Not sure, I can't seem to make it work.

I think it's because there were multiple options with the same description YOU FAIL AT INTERNET POLLS
