History:
Wal was born to a pair of Gnome merchants and lived a pampered life. When he grew up, Wal started a buisness of his own and got married when he became successful. He fathered three children before his first wife died and fathered four more with his second wife. The children were taught by their father how to run a buisness sucessfully and build machines. Life was good for Wal.

Life changed when Wal sent his two oldest Sons to run his third shop and now had an extra room in the house. He thought he could make extra money by renting it out:

Wal was going over his books when someone banged loudly at the door. He didn't even bat an eye as his manservant went to open the door. When the door opened an icy chill when up Wal's spine, which was odd for it was summer.

"I'm here for the room."

"I-I-I am s-sorry, b-but the r-room has b-been taken."

Wal snatched his cane and limped to the door planning on beating the manservant or the ruffian at the door. When he reached the door he saw a giant stick of a man that was Adamas. The icy chill penetrated Wal's heart and choked it. Wal never felt like this before, it had to be death himself at his door set to take his soul to the afterlife.

"I need the room more," ordered Adamas as he barely squeezed thorugh the doorway. "Take me to room and tell of no one of my presence here. I will pay well."

In fear for his life, the manservant obeyed without question, while Wal forced himself to sit down and catch his breath.
"I don't want to die," he whispered silently, "I don't ever want to die."

Over the next year with Adamas' constant comings and goings, Wal began to fear him less. Wal started to talk to him, using his mind over his fearful heart. Through their conversations, Wal learned that though Adamas was wise and cunning, he lack farsight and direction. Carefully at first, he started to push Adamas into different directions.

Wal learned that Adamas will let anyone live as long as it was convient for him. So to increase one's worth in Adamas eyes, one had to be of greater value alive than dead. When Adamas came in one night to his new shop in Marn with only one hand, an opportunity Wal couldn't pass up. When the healers failed to repair Adamas' hand, Wal decided to build one.

Now with Adamas in his debt, Wal had power over Death. Wal shares the same goal as Adamas, to become immortal, but Wal only wants an enternity of pleasure. Immortality and power is his desires.
