Player Name: Dani
Name: Saku Imorien
Chronological Age: 34
Apparent Age: 16
Race: Half Elven-Fae
Height: 5'7
Weight: 98lbs
Physical Description:
Saku is an intimidating figure, regardless of her youthful appearance. An atmosphere of malevolence and cruelty throngs the air around her, making horses bolt, animals shy away and humans withdraw, hair standing on end. Her appearance does not help to conceal her vicious mien; indeed her dark grey skin makes her look demonic. Her skin is flawlessly smooth, but the colour charcoal grey, slightly darker on the tips of her fingers and her pointed ears. Another unusual factor is the long tail Saku has, black and covered in fine hairs. Similar to the tail of a panther it is powerful and assists her in balance.

This smooth skin lies above a layer of wiry, strong muscles that ripple like those of a panther as she moves. Her willowy body is obviously not built for strength, but for speed. She walks with the poise and grace of a hunting wildcat, a blatant demonstration of skill. Her small form has a tiny waist and a rather curvaceous, large bust. Her arms and legs are long and slender, fine dark grey lines of her veins standing out on her flesh, signs of regular vigorous exercise.

These veins run like tramlines to unusually strong wrists and long fingered, slim hands. Her fingers are perhaps an inch longer than the average human, tipped by long, black, claw like nails, sharp as daggers and just as deadly. The palms of her hands show only the slightest wear, small calluses on her fingers show her experience with both bow and blade but have not hardened enough to prevent her fingertips bleeding if she uses a bow often without gloves.

Saku’s feet are as unusual as her hands. She walks barefooted all the time, her ankles bound tightly with cloth to prevent damage if she takes off at a great speed or when landing from a great drop. Her toenails are similar to her fingernails, black, hooked claws that she can use to tear flesh. On the heels of her feet are long spurs, giving her a very unusual footprint. She has four toes on each foot rather than the usual five, more splayed than human feet, giving her a greater area of balance and a greater spring in her step.

Holding true with her general demonic appearance, her face is rather different to both a human’s or an elf’s. Her large eyes are slanted, cat-like lined with thick long black lashes, usually lined with black eyeliner. Her irises are orbs of the brightest violet, the edges circled with black, spikes of royal purple forcing their way to the pupil. People say eyes are the gateway to the soul and in the case of Saku, perhaps they are. Looking into her eyes, is like falling through a pit of darkness, every inch of a persons identity could be stripped away and leave them a shell of what they were. Of course, once they break eye contact, they regain themselves feeling little more than discomfort under her cold gaze. Arching above these malicious eyes are finely plucked black brows. Her nose is long and slender, slightly pointed at the tip with small nostrils. Her lips are full with a large cupid’s bow but rather than a shade of pink, her lips are nearly black, fading to a dull grey-pink on the inside of her mouth. Her canines are rather sharper than normal and a little longer and the pre-molars behind them share the same shape.

Long bangs of thick white dreadlocked hair cover half of her face and run all of the way down her back, reaching down to her thighs. At the end of each of the dreads are silver rings, some of them carry bells which tinkle musically as she approaches. The dreads are fairly thin, little thicker than the middle finger of a human man but lie heavily on her head, very thick and well kept. Her hair is a pristine white, like that of new fallen snow under sun and soft as spun silk. Hidden under her long lengths of white hair are pointed ears which have darker points than the rest of her skin. Each of her ears is pierces in five places, in the holes are fitted silver rings with tiny engravings of dragons and various ancient runes her family believed contained power.

Her clothes keep to the same theme, they lack colour or glamour, most of her outfits are all shades of grey, black or white for no other reason than she prefers them to be that way. On the more mundane of days where she must transverse among humans more fittingly she wears something like a white shirt with long wizard sleeves that cover her hands. On top of the white shirt she wears a black waistcoat, close fitting around her waist and open around her bust, emphasising her slight hourglass figure. She typically would wear a skirt that reaches down to her thigh, or a pair of tight fitting trousers.

Her preference however is to be garbed in leather, wearing it not only to protect herself but also because she finds it more comfortable. Tight waisted leather tops with padded shoulders and arm guards and bracers as well as tight trousers with padding on her calves. She goes barefoot everywhere. Slung on her back is her bow and pack and at her side are strapped a variety of daggers and two long curved hunting blades.

Possessions: Saku carries a variety of daggers, ranging from smaller throwing daggers to the larger, heavy bladed daggers preferred by assassins. Along with these, she carries a pair of hunting knives, each a metre long with cruel curved blades and black hilts. On her back she carries her bow and quiver.

She also wears a leather pack in which she keeps such mundane items as whetstones, fletching tools, food, water and three different kinds of poison, one which is used in food, the other two for poisoning her blades and arrows.

At her side runs a cat, the one animal that will stand close to her without blind panic, indeed the beast seems to revel in her bloodlust for she has never raised a hand against it. The cat is similar to an Asian Golden Cat but rather than having a golden coat, it’s coat is black apart from the golden streaks running down his face. He stands at little over a metres height at the shoulder but weighs no more than 27kg. He has been known to warn Saku of danger, as well as assist her in any way she commands him to. He is intelligent beyond the realms normal for an animal.

Personality:

Saku’s personality is somewhat closely guarded. She does not reveal herself very often, to those around her she is typically understood to be a twisted sadist with a taste for blood, and indeed, none of them are wrong. The very air around her reeks of cruelty and malicious intent, and it is obvious to those that stand too close that she would often rather kill them than share another word of conversation.

Indeed, her cruelty is of such a strength that animals cannot tolerate to be around her and humans feel a discomfort in her presence, when her eyes are fixed on a person they are as those of a hunter stalking it’s prey. Though she does not often make any attack on a person without cause, when she does she delights in delaying their moment of death for as long as possible, making it as painful as possible. Her eyes light up with the pain of others and she smiles a terrible smile, baring her long sharp teeth to those around her.

With those she does not intend to kill, Saku is reserved, quiet and withdrawn. She will speak when spoken to but does not often initiate a conversation unless she feels some unusual form of companionship with the person. However, if a person can stomach her love of blood and pain, they will find a tolerant person, witty and clever and protective however she has remained closed to those around her for many years. She is loyal to those that understand her, or those that offer the most money for her services and once given an order, is as tenacious as a bulldog. If threatened, she does not often back down, however she sees little point in arguing where no argument can be won.

Pride is not an important factor to her, indeed, let others believe her to be wrong, as long as she knows she is correct she can stand it however when a person slights her very essence, may they be ready for drawn blades and blood for once she initiates a fight, she will do her very best to win, and her very best is usually enough.

To her the world is a pit of malice and cruelty, an after observing human kind for several years she believes them to be no different. Many have false values or are hypocrites and in her eyes, they are worse than she. She does not have a distorted perspective of who or what she is however she does not feel that it is worth fighting what you are, simply because it is a losing battle. She feels there can be no god in a world that allows her to commit such atrocious acts so she has no fear of punishment, or of hell.

Likes: Saku has very few likes that appeal to other people. She loves the feel of a sharp sword, inflicting pain on others and the sound of the twang of an arrow. Aside from killing and causing pain, she has a great love of classical music which will calm her from the most serious rages, her other love is of her companion, Levinx. She enjoys walking in forests and birdsong however she cannot often hear birds for they fly away whenever she approaches and leave her in a ringing silence.

Dislikes: Particular dislikes of Saku include the sound of metal on stone, very bright sunlight and small dogs. She is equally affected by poor manners and rascism, which she often suffers from.

Powers or Strengths: Saku’s strengths lie in speed, rather than strength. She is skilled with a sword and yet more skilled with her daggers, able to slice through the gaps between plates of armour. Her hunting knives are always sharp enough to behead a man but she has neither the strength nor height to slice through a spinal column. Instead she relies on stealth, sneaking up on her victims and killing them with a single well placed blow.

Beyond that, she is accurate with a bow, good enough to reach it’s full range. Her arrows are often tipped with deadly or paralysing poisons. Her skill with magic is also a strength, although not one she relies on too often, if she can help it, instead she would rely on her own body. She is skilled at both intimidation and coercion, easily able to control and oppress those around her, threatening them to do her bidding.

Weaknesses: Perhaps one of her larger flaws is her obvious lack of strength, she is unable to physically beat very many people, once they have her in their grasps. She does not have the strength to break free from a hold without slicing someone’s hand open. Another difficulty she faces is that no animal will willingly bear her, a horse will cast her off, dogs will turn tail and run and wild animals will often sense her presence if she is hunting them, meaning she must buy a great deal of her meat.

People feel uncomfortable around Saku, preferring to be out of her company. Given a choice people would not speak to her and shun her openly however she punishes those who make open remarks on her, and with pleasure. She enjoys inflicting pain and cruelty. Her bloodlust often gets her in trouble with the locals and with the law and because of it, she has never settled anywhere for very long. Often she will hire other people to deal with the public or her clients, preferring not to reveal herself.

Another weakness, certainly as considered by society is Saku is somewhat mad, she shifts moods as quickly as a storm, and her wrath is more powerful than that of nature however, regardless of all this, she can disguise herself in the world of sanity until she finally cracks open a wide grin. Insanity lights her eyes for the only time she grins widely is when she slaughters, when she is delighting in vicious bloodshed.

Powers/Spells:
Saku has an extreme sense of balance and is able to walk a tightrope with little difficulty. She excels in acrobatic tasks and in her inherent speed. Her magic is based on her sense of reality. She has a few spells which are able to distort the reality around her. She is able to use a spell which means she can travel from one spot to another instantaneously, without covering any ground although it has a limit of about 200m.

She is also capable of poisoning her intended victim with bodily contact although it is not secreted through her skin. Her poison is secreted through bodily fluids such as saliva however this poison can be absorbed through the skin or through orifices. The poison is not made to kill, it is a nervous inhibitor which a minor dose will paralyse the victim however a serious dose will prevent the victim from breathing and their heart will fail.

Her final spell enables her to possess the mind of her wildcat (whose name is Levinx) and abandoning her body, she can control his as she could her own. As she has elven blood, she is able to bridge the gap between the two worlds however she usually does so in her sleep and has only once been able to step over in her waking life.

History:

Saku was born from a short-lived union between an Elf and a dark Fae. Both had been travelling through a deep wilderness although the name had not been given to Saku. They had travelled together for protection and shelter, but the needs of both elf and fae had bridged their friendship. For the few weeks they travelled together they became close but when the time came, Saku’s father left to return to the city where as a dark Fae, Saku’s mother did not feel she could follow.

They parted then, Saku’s mother returning to the vale inhabited by a few of her family, carrying her pregnancy in some shame. Saku’s birth had been unfortunate, she was overdue by two weeks when labour finally started and much to the horror of the others, Saku was too large and the birth killed her mother from internal bleeding.

The first few years of Saku’s life were marred by the death of her mother. She was blamed for the incident and was hated by the community but they could not put her out and so she was passed from person to person for three years, the only constant holding her life together being the cold, rather cruel way she was treated. She was ignored by adults and the other children bullied her and teased her dark skin. Humiliation was a daily ritual for Saku, indeed, for over 14 years she received no words but those of punishment.

In these lonely years she spent much of her time in the forests, fury swathing over her. As if the animals could sense her anger, they began to avoid her, keeping out of stones throw. This only infuriated her more and she began to hate the very animals that ostracised her too. When they failed to run she would lash out on them, furious that none would face her. Her anger even spilled out into fights among her family, she would often attack other children, inflicting cruel and painful injuries. One boy who has laughed at her had received a blow to the head and lost the tip of his ear as she bit him. Of course her efforts did nothing to ensure her acceptance into her family group, it drove her further away than ever. No longer would her relatives allow her to live with them, instead she lived in a small home at the edge of the glade, away from everyone else. At 14 years old she had to learn to support herself. She learned how to hunt with a bow and arrow, since she couldn’t get close to the animals but she often hungered. She would practise with blades traded for animal hides to keep away the others in the village.

Her skills with magic had grown at a similar rate to her skills with weapons, certainly at first. With her background it seemed natural to her that she would have some form of magical knowledge, even if it was less than that of her mother who had been one of the most powerful spellcasters in her people. She knew nothing of her father. Her life advanced in such a way for several years, it wasn’t until she was 17 that things really began to change.

Over the years, her hatred for other people, for life and the way things were had festered in her, it twisted her from the person she might have been into a cruel shade of a person who longed for nothing but death and destruction. So twisted she had become, that others feared to approach her, she was blamed for accidents, when people were hurt or babies died, she was blamed. A young Fae who had known her from birth lost one of these babies and in her fury ran to the small home in which Saku resided. There she challenged the young adult, calling her every name in every language, shouting and swearing and finally advancing on her, knife brandished.

Saku watched her approach, calmly at first, examining the sheen of the knife, the workmanship of the blade. The woman ahead of her lunged, brandishing the blade which Saku easily slipped away from, moving to the side casually. Her hand shot out and grabbed the knife from the woman, snapping it out of her grip. She turned the knife on her, smiling as she slowly slid the knife across her face, slicing it open. She hacked and sliced, tearing the woman’s flesh with a thousand wounds, blood covering Saku, her house and the floor, pooling in great crimson puddles. When the other fae came to look for their sibling, they found the mutilated body lying on the floor of Saku’s house and Saku sitting opposite, turning the knife around in her hands, examining her handiwork.

Her people reacted in a way to be expected, they drove Saku from their village, hoping she might die in the cold world beyond their borders. Saku ran, she could not face all of them at once, but when night fell, she snuck back into the village, sliding through the shadows like a panther. She stopped first at the blacksmiths and took weapons from him before moving from house to house.

She cut the throat of every person who had ever tormented her, and she had a long memory. She covered their mouths so they could not cry out and drew her knife across the soft flesh of their throats, watching them bleed to death with a delighted smile on her face.

She did not linger in the village that night, she moved on straight away and took to the roads. It had been said that a fortune could be made in the cities of the world, and that was where Saku wandered toward. She knew that money was power, and power was ultimate, it was what she needed to exist, she could live without air, but she would be respected, be feared. She demanded it. At first she lingered in towns, doing small jobs here and there but it seemed the news of her familys slaughter had passed like wildfire ahead of her and everywhere she went there were rumours of her deeds.

She was turned away at every entrance to villages, towns and even some cities, denied access in case she should slit the throats of the occupants as she had done before. But the news didn’t only reach town guards, its made it’s way to the ears of wealthy and crooked businessmen, those who needed protection or a killer, or even those who needed a mercenary. It was established that Saku would do any act for money, kill anyone or anything. She was true to her word, once she had a target, she stuck to it until she destroyed them.

Her renown grew among the darker circles of the world, she was recognised by guards but rather than turning her away, they allowed her past and lightened her purse along the way. She was careful to leave no trace of herself in a city, but people knew who she was. By the time she was 32 she had amassed enough money to finally be able to buy her equipment and food rather than make it. She travelled light and fast under the orders of a few men that would have her carry this or dispatch of that, all the time honing her skills, improving her powers with every passing year and yet she never aged. She hadn’t aged since the age of 19, her body still at it’s physical peak.

Her last order was for the death of a man known as Kythalos, rumoured to be somewhere in Marn under the name of Michilos. She had traced him into the bowels of the city and had nearly destroyed him, only for him to escape at the last moment, slipping through her fingers like water. She now searches the city for his trail, people have said that he hasn’t yet left but she can find no rumour of him.
