Mission: Impossible

So, for those of you that don't know what Tsaikatlaua's trying to do, here's a summery for reference.

About a year-ish ago, a book was stolen from her people by someone who had some sort of vendetta against them. I'm not to sure all the details (oh, excuse me, they've been 'lost in the annals and mists of memory' to make it sound all fantastical and woo-woo), but all of a sudden BAM, the book was gone. Highly sacred godly object--it'd be like if someone found Jesus's diary, then it was stolen. Because this book was written by Plintzalcoatl (did i spell that right?) and entrusted for care to her people, then it was gone.

So Tsaikatlaua was given weird powers and told to find the book. She's tracked it to the Marn Library, the highly forbidden one that only ranking officials, battlemages, ect. are allowed into. And they're certainly not going to allow some foreigner access to the archives, much less take a book home.

It must be stolen! Hence, mission impossible. Tsaikatlaua still needs someone who's got knowledge of the interior of the library, but she's got her theif, the lovely cougar-girl Cimri. She's also got drug-addicted Talion, and possibly Theo, if she can manage it. Tsaikatlaua herself is powerful, but rather unused to the ways and means of life in the colder lands.

Will they succeed? Will they fail? Only YOU can prevent forest fires... wait... only YOU can help Tsaikatlaua on a potentially fatal, harmful, and most certainly illegal mission!

So, with that said... I hate ending stuff like this. Anyway, if someone's got ideas about said person with knowledge of the library, cough up here. Or anything else relevant to this idea.

Since Talion was kind enough to invite my character into the thread, I've been pondering on how this could play out. Yyan is a newcomer to Marn, and therefore won't be much help in tracking down the book... but he could be a source of trouble for the group later on down the road.

I had in mind that he's become an unwitting spy for the judges because of his ability to sense magic. Not a battlemage, instead using his status as a lowly commoner to sniff out rogue magic-users and report them without detection. At the present time, he is not fully aware of this arrangement, he only has vague memories of being imprisoned within Justice Hall, but he will be compelled to follow Tsaikatlaua and this group. Given Tsai's powers, I doubt he would be able to tail them long without being detected.

So my thought contribution is this: Yyan follows the group, somehow becomes involved, the mission plays out, at some point he alerts an authority about the presence of powerful magic-users, brings the Battlemages down on them, chaos and much plot ensues.

This is Tsai, too darn lazy to switch accounts.

Sounds good to me. Pretty much, I'm open to any and all ideas regarding this plotline; I know what I want to happen but only in generalities.

So if you want to join the party, come on in. Tsai can be rather naive when it comes to dealing with people even though she thinks she's not--it's what comes of gods saying 'here have bunches of powers go find book now'.

I've no doubt Tsai would be found eventually, and her plan probably more or less become known. She's got uber-super magical-ness, drawing theives and other unsavoury types to her, obviously an out-of-towner... so Yyan finding her and giving her over sometimes later sounds good to me.

In order to preserve the posting order, and so that no one gets confused, I'll put Yyan's first post up after Cimri goes.

So far the story idea sounds good.

Why do we have two plot discussions for this thread though?

Whoops. I meant to clarify that...

Drunken Rat started as a general thread, then morphed into what it is now.

I put this up for a discussion thread if anyone is interested in my idea about the library fun and games, wanting to get involved at a later point becuase their character is otherwise occupied now or whatever.

Okay, that doesn't make much sense, but it works for me. I understand what I'm trying to say. I guess... sorry. My brain isn't functioning properly.

If everyone's ok with it, I'm gonna scrap this plot discussion thread. Objections?

You may want to put the summary in the other topic, Tov.

Yeah, go ahead and scrap it. I've compied my little summery thing, and I'll go paste it up elsewhere.

And you changed your avvie again. No more squinty eyed fox?

Yeah, it was cute but...

Now I have to change this one though. Ugh. I'll just keep rotating them.

by the way I have some time these days to play a battlemage/government people if you need for this plot.
