He is nimble and can easily outrun a aggressor in the city just enough to be able to disappear into it's collection of dreary coloured people and places.
Powers - Rioett is not magical in a common sense. His magic lies within his ability to inspire feelings within his music. As he plays he learns new ways to bring out elements of emotion and thought in his music. The songs he plays are different every time, but they still involve the same feelings. A list of his current song elements an their descriptions below.
Cheer - Cheer can inspire hope, happiness and friendship among the intended audience
Courage - Courage can inspire strength, will and moral among the intended audience
Peace - Peace can inspire calmness, trust and forgiveness among the intended audience
Friendly Suggestion - A friendly suggestion within a song can inspire the intended audience to feel the need to preform an action which would be within their normal capacity (e.g. Suggest a ground of drunken dwarfs join in the song or Suggest to the bartender to serve a drink "on the house")
He uses his music as a source of income by busking for a bishani or two.
Weaknesses: Rioett has a weakness for elves. He is heavily attracted to their grace and beauty. This attraction is not in a sexual way, but in an admiration of the race in general. If he sees an elven female in alone, in danger or just any other time, he will be beside her and to assist with whatever needs assisting. His other weakness is that he does not like fighting. He is not strong of cunning in that sense so is more likely to escape unless someone he feels responsible for is in danger.
History: As a child Rioett grew up on a small farm in Shim which his grandfather had bought his parents as a wedding gift. He spent most of his time working on the farm for his father, an unappreciative, task master. From morning till night he worked too keep the vegetable farm going while his father sat and watched. Some day's when Rioett woke up, too his surprise his father would not be barking orders but a note left on the kitchen table.
"Gone out for the day.
You know what you need to do and be finished before I get home or there will be a beating involved."
He never finished before his father got home, he could never resist the urge to go see his grandfather. He lived in a little shack on the other side of the farm. He always had amazing stories to tell, and had even started teaching him how to play harp. Once father got home Rioett would be beaten with the end of a broken rake. His mother never stepped in, she just sat and knit all day. Rioett knew she was beaten too. One day his mother had explained to Rioett she was moving out because his father was bringing a new girlfriend home, the one he had seen every time he had "Gone out for the day." She had not allowed Rioett to leave with her, no matter how much he pleased. The night before the new girlfriend was supposed to arrive his father had caught him packing his things, including the harp his grandfather had left for him. After a heated discussion in which Rioett had mentioned his plans to busk for a living in the city, his father hissed.
"You really expect people to pay you for the crap you do?"
Rioett didn't think his father had ever heard his music, which was really quite beautiful. Pulling out his harp and playing a slow tune his father fell to his knees, crying. In the city, Rioett had learnt he could inspire other emotions in people, but never like he did with his father. Utilizing this ability to make a living, Rioett survived of the work he did day by day. Playing when he needed something, never having more bishani than he needed. Working, Dining and Sleeping in inns or taverns.
