Thar Shaddin

This is a character that I used to play when I was doing chat-based RP. I liked the character, but it's hard to play an archer in a chat-based RP when everyone who ever tries to fight you is next to you "using his lightning fast speed". *le sigh*

Anyways, it's not urgent, but I thought I'd put the idea out to anyone who might be seeking a thread for their character, like Saaiqa, Saeven or Azzan.

This is a good place to start tossing ideas around, methinks.

So, out with the ideas, people!

Railtus and his band of merry men might have a use for you, but you'd have to check with him.

Most threads are open, and it's usually best to start off by jumping into an open thread, rather than starting a new one off. Just get yourself into the way we do things here.

Speaking solely for myself, and my character the greatsword wielding wall-of-muscle that is Xyon, we don't practice kill-stealing. If you've a target and you're fighting, Xyon would usually only kill your target if he was about to kill you. Protection, not theft.

Obviously, chat RP and PbP RP is quite different, the major thing being you tend to spend a long time waiting for things to happen. Patience is it's own reward here. Eventually things will happen in the way you want.

My advice to you is to find an open thread, or a semi-open one and post in the discussion forum, think out a way for your archer to join in with their plot which would suit your own interests as well. This way, you'll get posting as quickly as possible, rather than having to wait for your own thread to start up.

Of course, whilst playing, you can lay down the foundations for your own thread, and when ready, leave the other plot and begin your own.

Xyon...not to interrupt your fine hints for beginners or anything...but Chezak is played by Kamar.

I can laugh about this because when I first started, I too lectured a longer-standing member about "the way we do things here at Thar Shaddin." (Although, in my defense, Shadow was pretending to be a newbie at the time. Naughty boy!)

I sort of brought Chez in as an NPC/helpful plot device. He has his own story, but it's secondary to other characters on the board.

Fine then lol. You can all go rot in your own private hells for all I care.

I stole it in the "anything else" forum before frug cleared up all the old posts.

I still have the admin wiffle bat though.
