Yeah well I'm really picky about design. I actually want to simplify this further, and I always get rid of buttons or fields that people don't use. After I disassemble this and make it as clean and simple as possible, I'll start adding things.

A few points, all them stupid buttons beneath everybodies post, you should get rid of them, and another is to add quick reply to OOC topics...Not that you didnt know that already.

Those things are easier said than done. Phpbb is a free service and there isn't just a checkbox to turn these things off, it needs to be hacked. To do that takes time and code.

Time, patience, editing files longer than you are tall, adding tables in SQL, and going completely insane while attempting to do crap.

One issue I see is that long character descriptions taking up too much space - maybe it could be shown for the first post but not for any others in a thread? Or a way to hide them? Just a thought.

Yes, i noticed that it took extra long this time to get to the bottom of the page.

Well, I just hacked php to support custom profile information and for some reason it's showing up where it shouldn't be. It's a bug, and it doesn't look too hard to fix.

Okay, I see where the guy put it in the view topic template. Why he would put it there I don't know, that's actually pretty damn stupid. Hopefully just deleting that gets rid of it.

And after that: smilies, and the buttons under posts.

And after that: An Announcements section. Hotlinks to your full character sheets in your profile. Remove profile fields that we don't use like Occupation, Location and Interests. Turn off auto spell check by default (you can change the auto spell check in your profile currently). Layout improvements. Customize FAQ.

I don't think I'll be giving up on online RP entirely for a long time now, even if terre falls apart. I've had too many memorable moments and good times RPing with people to abandon it so easily. This is also a good way for me to learn how to use phpbb, which i suppose is useful. I get the feeling people will give terre more attention now that it's not on ezboards and it's really its own board.

I will try to fix up the page so it looks more like the old terre, so it'll have the banner and stuff, yes. Tael aen also moved to the same server i'm using now, and they managed to make it look almost identical. see http://www.taelaen.com/forum
