I don't think its very ethical to even use a mouse or any creature for such aims, but at least the brain has no pain receptors. Just getting to it is what hurts.

The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat is actually one that popped into my head when I wrote that. I never read it, but I know what it's about, and it's famous among the psych circles. It's cool that you've read it Ice Some day if I come across it I'll be sure to check it out.

You guys probably don't want to talk to me about ethical treatment of animals. I can be pretty leftist when it comes to talking about people, but animals are a different story. It's a paradox that I really love animals, mostly dogs, but I have no trouble with the idea of experiments. Especially on mice, one of which my friend just fed to his pet snake the other day... Something significantly more painful than single cell recording electrodes, I assure you.
