Ran is such a pretty boy. . .
In my last post I meant for Saruna to make the Paragon more obvious to the waiter, as a means of declaring that she wants to be involved with what that particular tavern has going on. The extra coin is a way of . . . well, paying for it or bribery, take your pick.

Also, I was talking to Sindaria (
http://www.tharshaddin.com/rp/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2770), and got the idea that to get her into the rebellion Cal might have hired her either to spy on Saruna or to accomplish some of his nefarious deeds, and they wind up bumping into each other in the tavern. Whatcha think?

skip me please, I'll let you know when to stop skipping. Ran has little to say/do and he's just waiting for events to pan out.

Hey, I'm putting together an application for teacher's college due Monday, so I won't be able to post until I send it off tomorrow or Thursday. Sorry for my delay in posting ...

January is just a really hectic time for everyone I guess... also finishing up my applications for law school haha. When we're all a little better we should have a little powwow about where to take the immediate plotline. Oh, and I hope you're feeling better Saruna!

Hi Saruna & Sindaria,
I just want to take this moment of down time to confirm that we have some kind of plan for what happens next and how it happens?

I've been going from the seat of my pants since our characters entered the tavern. I mean, I know what Saruna wants, and that she's determined to get it before she leaves Marn for the day. But characters are supposed to be people, and there is never any certainty when people interact with each other. Maybe they will go one way, maybe they will go another; what winds up happening with the current conversation will, I think, flavor the next direction we choose to go in.
In short, I guess that means I'm not making any plans until the current awkward situation is resolved. Heh.

of course saruna, I understand the fluid nature of character interaction and that it's part of the beauty of freeform rping.
Im not so concerned with the exact direction of the plot itself as mich as the structure around it. for example, is the bartender also involved with the movement? anyone else? surely its possible that some patron, patriot or dissident who noticed the clinking of coin on the table and our characters' awkward exchange.
I just wanted to establish some structure to the environment our characters are interacting within. tools at our common disposal as cooperative story tellers.

I have no idea as to the answers to any of your questions Ran, and like Saruna, I am just sorta flying by the seat of my pants. I do know that Sindaria is not in the movement yet, and likely doesn't really have any information to share, save knowing that this is obviously an establishment that "tolerates" dissidents. I'm open to suggestion, as I'm just getting my brain back around this thread after my absence...

I totally misunderstood your comment ran. Bad me ><
Yes, the tavern is part of it, in the sense that it is used as a meeting place. The owner believes in the cause, in many causes, and feels that the citizenry has a right to discuss such things without fear. However, the owner is not so invested in it that he is willing to put his business and livelihood into unnecessary danger. Violent or unruly patronage is not accepted. The tavern is not openly advertised, and you can't see it easily from the street. The lighting is kept dim on purpose. If the guard had any reason to enter or search the premises the owner would not give them any trouble, and would disavow knowledge of anything illegal or questionable. The main patronage who go there to meet and talk know this; the staff also knows this and take pains to keep out of it. If they get involved they get let go, simple as that.
I've got a bad habit of barely explaining things in threads and forgetting that people don't have access to my brain and therefore only get a very small part of the picture. >> I apologize for the confusion.

I realized that I fudged it a bit, in pretty much all of my posts in Hunted regarding Cal. I had remembered Saruna agreeing to meet him the day after they'd talked, but in reality it was supposed to be a week after. As all of the references were thoughts Saruna was having, I can go back in and edit them, but for the sake of clarity I wanted to make sure you guys knew that too. Very bad me.

Hrm hrm, will sindaria track them? Saruna is still a good source of money, even if she's foolish and stubborn.

Ooh also Sin I was thinking (ran too) that if you want a deeper involvement in the rebellion stuff you can thread hop. I'm going to be updating the current events section of the rebellion plot thread with the upcoming threads and how they interconnect and stuff -- with sin being sin you could potentially jump back and forth if you want until sin finds something to take a deeper part in.
