Mmkay, so I figure until selena comes back we can sort of continue on the current track and once shann and jin are done talking . . .well, we'll figure that out once it happens, and go from there.

I think though once she comes back we'll be ready to shake things up a bit. :3 I think perhaps Jin has taken a fancy to her, so he might have Ceallach protect her when things get rough.

Hal. . .you know if your character kills the passengers that he will be overpowered by the sailors (some of whom are great fighters) and thrown in the brig, right? Not even Jin will be able to get him out, as that is a major blow to the captain's/ship's reputation --as well as a loss of money! -- and bad luck besides.

Well, it's more or less in line with what Ceallach would do.

He doesn't want to kill people that he doesn't have to.

He's trying his best to be a good man, but he knows that killing is all that he's good at.

But he'll figure something out. He's not stupid. He just has a bad habit of letting his temper flare up at certain things, his kids and homeland being big ones.

Haha, well, you know he's pretty much crazy and making excuses for himself, right? Even in this time period, people just don't go around killing people like that. It'd be like now if someone goes and kills someone because they insulted him -- it's a huge deal you can't just explain away by 'oh, it was an insult to my family.' You'd either go to jail or, depending on the area, face a death sentence.

Yep.

And he realizes that. Hence, the whole lie about the guy threatening to kill Jin and Shann.

That's so. . .well, weird (it's almost like he's a wannabe sociopath or something), but at the same time, when he lied I was like OH NO HE DI'N'T! The lie was perfect. Good job for playing him convincingly, haha.

Thanks.

Well, Ceallach may be a crazy, bloodthirsty ass, but he's not stupid.

I'm still not too sure how we can build on this, but I believe it can be fun until Selena gets back.

It's really too late to verify or disprove Hal's story -- the guy is dead and tossed overboard. Jin probably wouldn't tell Hal to his face (the guy made him lose money!), but he probably would be likely to try to start an investigation into the dead dude's cabin.

Then again, we only have days left until Selena returns and stuff starts going wrong.

I think unless Shann changes the direction of hte discussion Jin would be likely to try to finish business first, and set Ko in charge of making sure Hal is taken care of.

Lol, chamber pots.

Sorry if my post was confusing. :( I meant for them to be on the lowest (or second lowest) deck of the ship (a term for which I found was 'orlop'), as they'd want him confined out of the way of the sailors, and out of sight of the passengers. The deck is far enough down that the only visible light is from the lanterns, and is typically left unlit unless someone is working down there.

Argh, which reminds me, I figured out a reasonable number of decks for the ship's size, but forgot. . .I think four. Top, (unless you count some of the half decks on top, but I'll count it as one), the first cargo deck which was retrofitted to include cabins, the deck under that which is strictly cargo, and then the very bottom which is mostly used to store spares and rope and stuff and is too small for a typical human to stand upright in.

I'm really really sorry but I might not post until next week sometime. Either I take my meds but am too out of it to post or I don't take them and make my shoulder/arm hurt like hell when I'm typing. :/

It's ok. We can wait if we must.

I'm kind of distracted with moving anyways, so you're just buying me time. :D
