Alrighty, thanks everyone for reading the long ol' battlemage post carefully; I don't want there to be too much ambiguity as to what all of the guys are doing. If you have any questions about any of the attacks they are making, please feel free to PM me (under Pagusel) or just ask in this thread.
Also, in action scenes I find it really helpful to involve a little more spatial specificity than is normally written. If your character is moving around, ducking one way or another, going towards a wall, it's probably going to make things run smoother to be specific about what directions are involved. I don't want to hack off the wrong limb, you see.
And for the record, I've been imagining the altar room to be approximately 20 feet, maybe less, in diameter, with the two entrances (Chet's entrance, and the entrance the intruders have used) to be on exact opposite sides of the room. But let's toss ideas around to be sure we are all on the same page about this place.

*fawns over thread*
Hrm. I think Anther might wind up hiding in one of the cages. I don't think he'll be leaving the basement, seeing as how there's fighting and magic up there and while he's solid on the former he's scared of the latter. So he's at the foot of the stairs at the moment. Sagath is right inside the alter room being a lump of useless, more so with the dementia.
Gaw, so much awesome to be had.

I see Ming and I have a similar idea of the alter room. I would have drawn a picture but I'm a little lazy. Anyways from what I've read about the room and the various descriptions of it, it's a circular room with the alter right in the middle of it and the two hallways on either sides of it. In the one hallway would be the top of the stairs that led to the basement prison and the other would led to the main entrance into the Hall, the way the battlemages came from. I assume that the battlemages and Tsai are standing near the hallway entrance into the alter room. Sagath is somewhere nearish Tsai but not right next to her. Yyan would be standing somewhere behind him and Tal would be pressed up against the back wall in the hallway, right at the top of the stairs. Kat just said that Anther is still downstairs, so yeah. The piece of ceiling tile would be about body-size and it would have fallen nearby Tsai but it would not have hit her and it wouldn't block the entrance into the room.

Actually, Yyan's also at the top of the stairs, peering into the room. I imagine him just a step or two behind Tsai right now, but once the fighting starts, he's gonna try to circle the outside, find a vantage point from where he can see the full room and do what he can.

It's this kind of thing I'm glad we can discuss here, because to me and Meesha's understanding of the room "top of the stairs" and "one or two steps behind Tsai" are two very different positions. I think we have tentatively settled that the room is about 20 feet in diameter, and the top of the stairs (from where the Tsai and company party has just come) is at the exact opposite side of the room from where Tsai and the battlemages now stand. So if Yyan is peering into the room from to top of the steps, he wouldn't be behind Tsai.

Whoops. You are correct. Just looked back at the thread and realized that I had misread Tsai's position in her last post.

okay so I was too lazy to install photoshop or chief architect on this computer yet so I drew my pretty little picture in paint, yeah I know it's a little off and not to the scale we talked about but here is a basic drawing of how I see the room right now.
damn, I made it a little too tiny to read. Well on the right there is the stairs with an arrow pointing to them. Tal would be the purple star. Yyan would be the blue star. Sagath would be the dark orange star. Tsai is the gold star, and the battlemages are the green ones. I will change it if it is wrong.

Hey, you guys, we're the only plot with a diagram. This is awesome. Kudos to Meesh. This was pretty much how I was picturing it, except I wasn't entirely sure where Sagath was.
This isn't going to end prettily... I'm excited.

I gotta head out of town for a few days, I should be back Tuesday or Wednesday. Oh and if my picture is wrong I can change it when I get back. I saved a copy of it before I added all the stars so I can reposition the characters when/if we need to. And if I got any of them in the wrong places, just let me know and I can fix it.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been around lately. I understand there are some problem with my latest Tsai post, which I totally get--overpowered characters are difficult for me to handle, pretty much for this reason.
Anyway, I'm going to try and be online more, so hopefully we can get this all sorted out and continue on... again, I'm sorry about the lack of me lately.

So just to let everyone else know, I've invited Dave to join us. If you find yourself asking how do we top a thread with three Battlemages, we bring in a fourth. Yeah, we are totally screwed.

Oh and I have talked with Ming and we think that she should probably talk over writing for Yyan for the time being. Seeing as how Xeis has to leave us, it's makes the most sense for Ming to play him as her battlemages are already controlling him with their special mind control powers. Yyan will most likely be used to help try to detain the others and then locked up so as not to be allowed to escape. Now I don't want to go revealing secrets but there is a reason why Yyan might be kept alive by the Judges even if he is caught so we might keep him locked up in a cell and ready for Xeis if her life settles down and she can come back to us.

As (I think) the only battlemage played as a character and not an NPC, I would just like to say ...

... I concur.

Hahaha, we were screwed the moment they entered the building. If anything, I think the battlemages are keeping porter from patty cake between his ceiling tiles and the wannabe thieves' faces. That and his need to be a clean freak. But hell, we went in looking for a ride and boy did we find one!

[kat] So I think Zina mentioned that Tov wants Tsai to die. Let's move forward! What are our plans? Anther will be captured and sell Tsai's base's location out.
