So I wanted to start out by saying I'm sorry that I am taking so long to post but before we got too deep into Justice Hall I wanted to go back and read several threads about the place and about Porter again, just to make sure that we were keeping it along the lines that everyone else was.

I think I have mentioned it before and I wrote about it in my post but I wanted to clarify here that the Justice Hall is a strange and unique building to Marn. The stone walls that make up the exterior of the building act as some magical barrier between the inside and outside. Anyone inside can't access the Astral Plane and those outside can't sense the power of Porter. With the building being cut off from the Astral Plane, those that need to access it to use their magic can not do it from within the building, basically they become magicless normal humans or elves or whatever it is that they are.

Porter has the ability to reshape the building however he sees fit, so we don't have to worry about that part as long as we include some of the basics. A big alter within the big open room in the center of the Hall, prison in the basement, and I'm pretty sure there are some religious and historical images within it like there are with the Guard's Headquarters. I'm thinking that I might try to drop some clues to some of the settings secrets while in the description of the building.

Oh another thing I wanted to bring up, Ming and I were talking in chat the other day and we got to discussing how we currently don't have anyone playing a Judge or a Battlemage and how we should have some on the board because they are an important part of the setting. Ming expressed in interest as playing a battlemage, but she thinks that she only wants to take one on as an npc for the time being. So I happened to mention our thread to her and told her that if the rest of you were cool with it take she can bring a battlemage into this thread.

Now a battlemage will really screw with Tsai's plans of trying to get her book back, but the Porter is already trying to do that anyways. I got to reading more of his posts and posts about him and I've just how Fing creepy he/it is. First of all, he has this ability to manipulate the Hall anyway that he sees fit, he has some really creepy child attendants, and he has this awesome power that allows him to simultaneously speak into the mind of everyone inside of Justice Hall and all the Judges and Battlemages on the planet. He is sure to call for backup at some point in the robbery process and I was thinking that is where Ming and some other npc guards could come in.

I figured that not everyone might want to be caught by an angry battlemage within Justice Hall, so I was thinking that Porter could split up the group (Pull one of those, making a wall appear out of nowhere tricks that separates the group into two or three groups.) If that were to happen, Ming's battlemage would then only be able to pursue one group, where as the others might go unnoticed or have to deal with groups of guards or other npc battlemages.

So what do you guys think?

Xeis I am so so sorry I accidentally skipped your turn. I thought I was holding up the thread so I put up the Porter and Talion post late last night without first checking to make sure that it was my turn. Again, I am sorry.

BRING IT ON. LET PORTER DO HIS WORST. LET THE BATTLEMAGE TRY.

The more antagonism, the better.

Not a problem at all, Nia. Actually it works out fine, since I've had a rather distressing situation crop up. Long story short, my job security was called into question over the weekend, and as we all know, stress is teh creativity suction.

We can either swap places in the posting order, or keep it the way it was originally, up to you. Either way, I'll make my next post tomorrow.

Ming wants to know when we want her to join in. I was thinking we would go maybe two more rounds, does that sound fine with everyone?

So assuming new order goes:
1. Porter
2. Talion
3. Yyan
4. Anther
5. Tsai
6. Ming's NPC Battlemages once they join in

I was thinking that the doors in the hallway would probably be the offices of either the Judges or the battlemages and the stair leading down into the dark would take them to the holding cells. Frug had mentioned that the basement was used to hold prisoners.
The cells were down a flight of stairs at the end of the hall. Just as barren as the rest of the place, they were, surprisingly, quite clean by most dungeon standards. Eight large cells, each separated by stone walls, surrounded a large room.
I'm looking for another quote I can't seem to find right now. It describes the cells as being made of the same white stone that the outer walls are. The floor and ceiling are of this stone too and there is absolutely nothing in the room other than a single electric light set in a glass dome in the ceiling. So no beds, toilets or anything.

Here is the description of the children.
The sound of falling rain ceased, replaced by the echoing shuffles of a pair of orderlies who appeared from beyond a partitioning wall to the side of the altar. Young, fair skinned and fair haired young men, practically boys, dressed all in white with demure postures obeyed the porter's commands.

The porter did not need to speak to them. They knew his thoughts. Like worker ants they followed them with immaculate precision. Never arguing, barely conscious of their own existence. Their eyes were vacant, repressed unnecessary thoughts and feelings. They were the battlemage's internal servants, human husks otherwise as artificial as The Porter.

and I found the post with the better description of the cells.
Sterility in the cell block was beyond anything to be found elsewhere on Pal Tahrenor. There was nothing. Cold, white, glossy stone made up every wall of every cell. There was no chair, no bed, and no toilet. The only things in the room that broke the monotony were the steel bars that made up the cell doors and a single electric light, hidden behind a glass bowl in the center of the ceiling.

So I'm thinking that if anybody in the group doesn't want to take Porter's advice and turn themselves in (which I am assuming would be everyone) and they try to escape the basement prison up the stairs, I am thinking that Porter will try to fuck with them yet again. I'm thinking that if they try to go upstairs, I'm thinking the hallway won't be there anymore but the center chamber with the stone block torture alter will be there.
