What characters do you play?
Lucian, Raphael Quinn
Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Because they are mundane. There's a lot of kickin' characters on this board. But if you don't have some mundane guys lyin' around, nobody can tell.
Ergo, you all look good because of me. I am, like, Vitamin LIFE for this board.
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
Because they are god-damn EVOCATIVE.
Why do you think people should read your writing?
Because if you don't I will chop off your god-damn HEAD.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
Grail, by Stephen R. Lawhead. I loved all of the other books in the Pendragon cycle, but DAMN. Crap when compared with the rest. It might have been better had not all the other ones been SO much better.

by Blood Ravenous
What character are you?
"Ryxa", "Coinneach", "Asiona/Lateus"
Why are you important to the board?
"I'm extremely important. Who else would do the truly dirty work for the judges? And who else could have caught Chrishton, not to mention many more people to come?"
"Wow, she is full of it. As for me, I'm sexy. Very sexy."
"Uhm... Uhm... <She's nervous, I'll answer. She thinking she's unimportant. But she summoned me here, so I'd say she's pretty important.> Thanks Lateus *blush*."
Why do you think people should care about you?
"Who asked anyone to care? I couldn't care less."
"That's good because no one likes you, fire-brain. *ducks projectile*."
Why do you think people should read the stories you're in?
"Because I'm destined to do important things. And to be very powerful. Know your enemy, isn't that the phrase? Be ready, too, I always say."
"Don't read my stories. I like my privacy."
">blush<"
What is the worst book you've ever read?
"Just about every book. None of them are interesting or important."
"I'd say school books."
"The girl speaks! Amazing."
"Hey! You're a talking horse! ... That's um, you can't complain..."

What characters do you play?
Morsereg Dindaedel
Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Morsereg needs to be the kickass vampire that helps lead an army of feral vampires to level the town of Krevster's birth.
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
Well, I would hope Morsereg is an interesting character. He's one I've been developing for quite a few years now and I try to make him as sadistic, as dark and horrific as possible..
Why do you think people should read your writing?
I don't know. Maybe they're looking for something evil that hasn't been expressed yet.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
This is assuming I read crappy books. Nah, all the books I read are actually pretty good, I don't think I've once picked up a bad book...
w00t!! Roll Call :p

by Ryalyn Kylana
What characters do you play?
Ryalyn Kylana and Dureena Lavella
Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Well, Rya seeks herself and her past and quite often ends up in some sort of trouble no matter how hard her sarcastic and witty companion tries to prevent it.
Dureena on the other hand is a sly and haughty young mage who sucks up knowledge from anyone she considers to be better than herself at something, like a sponge as it were :p
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
I think my characters are pretty interesting and I enjoy writing for them, especially the dialogs between Rya and her shifter companion Ayden which are just ssoooooo much fun to write hehehe >D
Why do you think people should read your writing?
Again, the dialogs!! Here's a moody and somewhat unpredictable Edelian female with a snoody, sarcastic, and overly protective male shape-shifter companion who's constantly trying to keep said female out of trouble despite her curious and sometimes naive nature. It certainly inspires humor of all types. I also like to use a lot of imagery and go in depth with the detail to make as colored a picture as i can for the mind to explore while keeping some things a bit mysterious to be revealed later on for suspense.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
worst?! ummm ... I read a lot and I honestly cannot think of anything off the top of my head. Although I am in Western Humanities right now and could name a few but I cannot honestly name an ultimate worst one.
Roll Call?

by Valz Malar
I've been gone for awhile. I seem to run in a pattern. I get involved in a plot...stick around for the length of the plot...get most of the way through it....something comes up...plot wraps up quicker than it should...I add excessive elipsessssss....take a few weeks off....come back to try and get my mind off life...
...
...
Characters I play:
Valz Malar
Why is Valz important to the board?
Other than the intrinsic value inherent to all life and art...bleh...I don't know. He probably has much more value to me than he does to you all.
Why should we care about Valz Malar?
Because even though he isn't seen running all over Marn, he is a part of the town life. Albeit a small part.
Why should you read my writing?
Read it so that you can say you knew me way back when...of course, but in addition you can read it for it's own sake. I'm most definitely an amateur writer (at best) but I try to capture a flow that is real, adding enough detail to make people see what I/Valz can see and smell, and realistic dialogue without making it nausea inducing sap/cliche/trite reading.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
Almost every book labeled "classic" from the Victorian era that I have read. There are so many others that I wont even start. Of course they are outweighed by the thousand or so books that have rocked my world.
IN CLOSING...
Although, I am intermittent, I post reliably and would like to be included in the official rolls as a member of Thar Shaddin. In return I will re-update myself and check out what has been going on and see if Valz can enter a plot, and finish it, in a timely fashion, without shorting things based on outside events. Thank you.

What characters do you play?
Lylessa Uluki
Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Because as far as I know she is the sole representative of the Duskling race?
I'm not really writing this character because I feel she's important to the board, and I'm not sure she is. It's more that she's important to me, and this seemed like a good place for her. I've played other characters, but she's the one I could never really let go of. Some people love her and some people hate her, but I hope you guys will find her tolerable.
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
Well, it's easier to say why I care about her. I enjoy how caring and compassionate she is, how full of love, and (though you have yet to see this) how much she can accomplish by sheer effort and determination rather than any particular skills. She has such a good heart, and it can be really refreshing to play a character like that. On the other hand, she's far from perfect, and I will never lack for weaknesses to play off, too. I played this character for a year in another setting, and I still enjoy her. Her character is still developing and still feels really fresh to me, which is always a plus, but I also like that I have a history with this character, not just a backstory. And she's blue. Not sad, I mean, like, literally blue.
Your characters should care about her... or at least avoid being mean to her... because her friends have a pretty astounding survival rate. Being nice to the healer is generally a good call.
Why do you think people should read your writing?
I have no idea. Actually, they probably shouldn't.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
Some fluffy Faye Kellerman novel about a cult. People had the names of astral bodies. Plot made no sense. I've repressed most of it.
I also have an irrational hatred of Great Expectations, but I'm sure that's just me, not Dickens, and I absolutely adore Tale of Two Cities in spite of its flaws.

What characters do you play?
"Uh ... I'm Ander Valman..."
Why do you feel you(your character) are important to the board?
"I ... I'm not really important. I mean, my parents thought I was, until I started to use m-magic... and my dad was important, at least in Shim. But me... I'm really nobody."
Why do you think people should care about you(your character)?
"Well, I guess cause I care about people. But then ... my parents don't seem to really care about me. I mean, my mom cared more about my dad then me, and told me to get out of the house. I suppose I did hurt him, w-with the e-electric sh-shock thing I used on him. Maybe no one should care about me?"
Why do you think people should read your story(writing)?
"Maybe they shouldn't. But I guess it does tell about internal struggles, conflicts and things like that. Plus, there's two people with wings in it, one a little girl that can change sizes, and one that can turn into a small ... dragon? ... thing. I mean, that's pretty cool! ... Isn't it?"
What is the worst book you've ever read?
"I did read this one book about an elf. I think they called him a dark elf, and his name was Drizzt or something. I read it, and just didn't find it believable. It was too fanciful, and who ever heard of a 'dark elf'?"
(I, however, enjoyed that book. I just thought the irony was too good to pass up.

Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Well, she's unusual and she lives in a great big geode with Gelden and Ander and now Xyon. It just might be a safe haven for magicy types *gasp*
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
She's fairly grounded but she may start getting more fun later in the thread.
Why do you think people should read your writing?
Descriptive work? maybe....

Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
I just got here. Right now I'm still discussing who to play with.
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
Um... because I do. Also, he cares about YOU. He owns and runs the infirmary, for crap's sake.
Why do you think people should read your writing?
Writing, for me, is a form of escape from my crappy mundane life. It helps me pass the time and I really enjoy writing. I just hope people enjoy reading it as much.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
I think I agree with Railtis about the "Curious incident of the dog in the night-time". It just drageed on and in the end I put it down and never went back.

by Dorcas Tansy
Yeah, I'm bringing sexy back, in the totally way not facetious form of myself, and then in the form of my characters, who you can think sexy if you want.
What characters do you play?
Dorcas Tansy and Pagusel
Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Well I did disappear for eighteen months and the board didn't dissolve, so we can see that my characters aren't exactly crucial to the board, but that's good. Um . . . my characters are not necessarily anything I can claim are important to the board, but they are important to me. And I'm clearly important to the board because I am the fashion editor.
Why do you think people should care about your character(s)?
Care about Dorcas because she's really just a kid and she's not easy to relate to unless you CARE. See it's totally a learning experience. You don't need to care about Pagusel because she's not as vulnerable, you know? But she also has lessons to teach about the tenacity of cockroaches.
Why do you think people should read your writing?
Because I'm passionate about not sucking. It sounds facile, but it's the least facile thing I've written in this post.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
I'm not really in the mood to rant, so I'm actually going to generate from my memory banks a really good book I've read. How about The Once and Future King. I had to read it in high school, and it's one of those books that didn't strike me for how good it was until well after I read it. And I think those books are the ones that stick with me the most, the ones you don't know how good they are until a good deal later, so you know you are more affected by the overall quality of the book, and not like maybe the particular descriptive words or whatever. Those are nice too, like they might reflect good writing, but they aren't what makes a Book as a whole good. So if you haven't read that book, try it out. It's an interesting rehashing of the Arthurian tale.

What characters do you play?
Angel Macleod
Why do you feel your character(s) are important to the board?
Personally, as I'm fairly new to this RP, I don't feel that he's important to the board yet (if there is a "yet"). But he's important to me because I've been using him for the past four years (and back then, he was COMPLETELY different from the Angel Macleod you see today...but that's a different story). I could never really let go of him, as I do have major plans for him in the future. He's one of the better characters I've made so far. I just hope that you're tolerable with him.
Why do you think people should care about your character?
Eh...because he's a half-elven thief who uses light as a weapon? Nah, just kidding.
Well, he's a really nice person to get along with, even if he is a thief who preys on the rich and gives to the poor...kinda like Robin Hood, but with long white hair, a special power, and a dark past. Well, actually, it's kind of hard to say why others should care about my character, so I'm going to say why I care about him. I've been using him for the past four years, so I'm really familiar with him. He's a kind, benevolent, and witty person at heart. I've given him a history. He has very good strengths, and I play off his weaknesses as best I can. I'm actually working on a story centered around him (which is nowhere near completion...but getting there!).
I hope your characters can at least avoid being mean to him.
Why do you think people should read your writing?
Because I try to put my best effort into it. Also, it serves as my escape from an otherwise boring life. And it's always nice for people to give me friendly criticism on my work, because it motivates me to do better.
What is the worst book you've ever read?
I don't know...too many crappy books to choose from! I've only read a few really good ones.
